as we all, artists also look for changes, for new journeys, new experiences etc.
that's why they progress. of course you can not like it, but for others it's better then old.
i'm not saying that money, more bookings, wider audience not involved, every artist seek for that i'm pretty sure.
but again i think self satisfaction comes first, as if it comes from your music or only the money...

well krell... u r right at many point... ok
1. i do try to make my own music (but no succeded yet to create something really good)
2. im allways in the search for new things!
3. im just saying that BIG(mostlly old) artists that i liked once has evolved to something i dont like anymore(cuz i think its much less complex trance than they had before).. its frustrating to get new stuff that is less complex than older... further more as i was allready saying before im not talking on "Infected mushroom" progress cuz as much as i stoped likeing theire music at some point, i cant say that theire progress is bad. they evolved alot since they released the first(only one i liked) album... they sound much better than before... but still this is not my style.
im listening to alot of trance music! and i like it alot still after more than 6 years...
but i have expected trance to evolve to something much more complex than what is out today.. for example when i heard Orion-Metamorpheus(2000) album which is my most favorite one i though... "wow what a complex trance.. i cant wait to hear what he will release next, if this is complex then what will be in 1-2 years.." but when i got his new album it really wasnt as i was expected... |
