i prefer dj's that know how to create a vibe durring thier set & it doesnt matter if they r wellknown or a friend of your granie..:)

dj's arent suppose to bring people to a party (at least in a good party ,i mean), that's the promoter job...

one of the biggest problems (IMO) is that there's a huge difference between liking some artist's music and actualy hearing it for 3-4 hours set.

The best thing is to bring one 'big' artists (for publicity mostly) and support him with good local (and cheaper) DJs. this way you can create good publicity, but still support the local scene.

ppl! like the minister of finance, our beloved (;)) Silvan Shalom said: Knu Tozeret Haaretz! we got really good musicians/DJs in the scene, that compete equaly with the rest of the world - dont u prefere to support your own scene?

I think ATOM(er) said it best ,
its not important if the DJ is "big" or not ,

good vibe
good music

thats all that matters ...

P.S. : good ppl ;) is important too

U live in void ppl ( at least some of you )

Trance scene was like this some 5 - 6 years ago, and even then I knew when Mike Maguire will play and when Tsuyoshi is coming.. And not only me.. Ofcourse ppl follow high class DJ's and artists and today more than ever.. The fact that many times they ( we ;-) ) don't deliver the goods, is the other side of story. But I still believe there are some names that are giving both sides to the story - exellent music and good vibrations..

And yes - organizers should promote the local scene - not because our DJ's are as good as europians - NO THEY DON'T. But if we want them to b - we have to make'm practice on real crowd and not to spin in a friend's place to couple of bored neigbours.

Yes indeed Yuli.
Every D.j need a real practice in front of a live crowd, and freinds eighbours- they are just not enough for the job.

Israel is lacking lots of things. We are fucking isolated in a swamp-sized country. Non of us can get the same oppurtiunities that gets a European d.j for example. I mean one day playing somewhere in Germany, the other in another club in Swizerland, and a few hours after in a shick party in France....

Another thing is the prices. Speaking about euroupe, i do not recall even one party that i had to pay to, without getting a minimum of one drink with it. Than, you don't have to be a modal in order to get a free drink. And i do not want to start with the prices comparison...

In conclusion in these tuff times- Cheeper parties, with our good local D.Js
This is a time to stick togather, dudes
PERIOD

i agree yuli that ppl will follow high class dj's , but i dont think that it will make the parties better...

take gabi & the twins for example :

i belive that the ppl who come to thier parties , doesnt come b cuz big names , they trust gabi's taste of selecting dj's (& to say the truth ,so do i most of the time) , the vibe is great most of the times & it will stay like that as long as pll do what they do out off love to what they do...

that is somthing that big names cant give to ppl in a party ... only the party orgenizers

& yess i do think that party orgenizers should invite more israeli dj's to play

It's a good point about Gabi & The Twins, since I got to their last 2 parties without even knowing the lineup, because I knew it'd be a blast.

What I'm saying, if an organizer can promise us that he'll bring us a certain style of DJs, and really give a unique sound (I'd love to go to a party with lets say... Borris, Gula K, Domestic&Pixel and 1 imported DJ, not necessarily in that order)... and not only that, if I would like the sound, and an organizer could say, I will bring these 2 DJs ALWAYS, so you'll always enjoy the music...

I'd go to every one of his parties.

and that's with only 1 imported DJ a party, since we DO have some high quality DJs here.
