personnaly i dont care how big is name. more importent to me that the guy will be my taste. i dream about some party creator that i will believe him with close eyes and will not read who play at all (voov sindrom). its more about quality of the party itself then the names stuff.

imo-
"better pay lower price and get resident djs + some big name"

cheaper for the crowd for the organizers. better for promoting our local dj's wich are just as good if not better in allot of the cases that the big names are stuck in some style and not nesecery doing a great proper d.j work.

cheap prices - resident D.Js.

aslong as it's not an ambulance D.J or something like that.

and regarding really rare acts that i like - i am willing to pay the price, but there is a limit.

Well, any club that wants to be BIG has to have very good resident DJs, and the same should go with organizers. If organizers get "resident" (or in nature, a DJ who likes the vibe of the parties they organize), other than being a nice touch, but it would give the organizers something to say.

I'm sure that if an organizer will have Gula K for instance as a resident, I'll go to his parties, since I know that no matter what, Gula K is going to give a set there, so it won't be all bad.

The only real example I can bring from Israel was the Alenbi/TLV which had the cream of the commercial DJs in the style as residents, and people came because they new the music would be a blast...

Why isn't it the same in the trance scene here (excluding the Dinamo Dvash with it's USTA support, and Mark Allen can be called a resident DJ there already :))?

who cares who is playing as long as you enjoy?
and if you didn't pay a shit load of money then lo nora. but pay alot to hear crappy music? no way.

sometimes big names arn't better than residents - residents even know better what to play becuase they are familiar with the local crowd.

it's got ups and downs.

ALL i mean is about paying some 20 NIS extra and get artists U WANT.
U care about music? well if u go to party and pay a ticket, u always know line up and what is awaited and sometimes u pay extra..isn't it?
Or in opposit you pay and get disappointed.
Or it's all about money?
That's the question.
I mean you have 2 choices only
Artist you won't be disappointed by or some extra money...

there is not such a big differance then - if u put it that way...
but yes - i would sure pay another 20 or a bit more  for that. not too much - depends on base price :)

easier way to find out about who's a cheapass. :P
