Posford = "Trance God"?

Hey,
A lot of people on this forum consider Simon Posford as a "God of Trance"...I know he revolutionised the scene and and has great music, but come on...none of you ever give a reason as to why hes so great??...

dunno if he should be called god of trance , better god of psychedelic ... i am not a sound engineer , i have no clue in making music ... but each sound he produces no matter was it trance or ambient - just sounds crystall clear to my ears , and they all are so perfectly fit each other growing in one huge "undefined" which is to me is a real creation of art ( art is undefined but there is often similar "art" produced by different "artists" , so Posford's art is really unique ) ... i never even thougth of his music by means of full on , progressive etc , it's too high to be labeled .. to me he is number 1 musician in this scene , with greatest technique ever .. one that fully transformed most psychodelic thoutghs , dreams , visions into sound .. God bless psychedelic geneus inside him

you like him because he has his own stlye??
not good anough reasons imho. i really don't get why people like him so much. true, he has made amazing pieces of trance but not more - again, imho

Simon is a great artist
but not a god, he is highly tallented mucisian & producer but that's it.
great mucisians born all the time, maybe he is one of them. however this is not the reason to be a "posford fan" , dont start collecting his pictures & t-shirts like stupid teenage girls that do the same with boybands....
the celebration about him is too big imo

this post makes me wanna be a jackass but i will refrain. Everything posford does, from shpongle to hallucinogen is great work. Beautiful sound quality, and from a musicians standpoint, excellent inventions. His progression and arpegios combined with the sounds he generates make for a wonderful trip-- without the acid, dig? Every sound reaches someone in a different way.
imho, It just so happens that posford reaches a certain crowd who realize what real psychedelic trance is, or, was for that matter. When you have a psychedlic experience to a certain tune, or certain cd, thats what gives him GOD staus. much like the older styles of Astral Projection, MFG, and Infected Mushroom... ahhh the good ol days.

I think that by elevating Posford to "god" you are disrupting the scene. the artists are just musicians, some better than others in music-making, but equal to all people in the rest...
Yes his music is great and i like it very much, but please drop "god"... he's just a great artist, that's all |

very unique sound... mr. posford has created a lot of art in his time. not so keen on the newer more accessable stuff (give me the mind-shattering amazement of twisted anytime!) but its still quality music. As for gods however, well I don't believe it to be so healthy for trancers to worship an artist... respect yes, but worship is going too far perhaps... |
