Come on, we all know it. Let go and say it ! MORE posford at the Glade this year and even more when he writes a setfull of GOOD new tunes!

I am mate. Posford is a total legend. He's been doing it for years, and could easily have got bored, gone on to some other scene, to do something else. We should celebrate his talent and everything that he has brought to this music, not knock him because he doesn;t have an abundance of new material.

Simon Posford is quite rightly the daddy of trance. first ever album i listened to... lone deranger, and it completely changed my views on music especially, and thru that much else. i still get tingles down my spine listening to it.

to have the main english trance festival without hallucinogen would be like... **so many examples to choose, goes with obvious one** infected not playing at an israeli festie, or bacon without eggs.

the reason people say 'not posford again' is because there is pressure every time he plays for him to look back to 7 year old music. yet the reason for this is that his old stuff set the bar for so many people, and that pretty much every time he plays there will be many in the crowd who have not seen him before and cannot wait for shamanix/gamma goblins/jiggle of the sphinx to be rolled out in such perfection over a massive rig. i still love it. at the twisted party a few weeks back he played a lot of new stuff apparently (i had avoided the main room for several hours by then) and i could hear the slight twinge of disappointment in peoples voices... not because the new stuff was any less good, but because the old stuff wasn't abundant.

long rant out, thought it would be better here than the negative thread

don't slate the masters!! its a shite british trait.

I've always got the impression that Simon Posford gets bored playing all the old Hallucinogen stuff - but people keep offering him silly money to fly to exotic places around the world to play it - so why wouldnt he do it?

Damn, so everyone moved to THIS thread? What was wrong with mine? (nothing except for the slating a legend part, i guess).

Well I like him too man and I've got a (slightly worn) soft spot for all the old stuff too, but *seeing* as he's such a genius - he could be a fresh genius and carry us all along with him! The Shpongle shit is so creative! People won't be disappointed to hear new stuff if it KICKS ASS will they?

(or even some new layers on the old stuff, y'know?)

You may have three-quarters of my brother Paul's name but you seem to lack all his sensitivity. Why on Earth should anyone with their creative integrity intact keep churning out the same kind of music for the rest of their lives? He is not responsible to you, me or anyone but his own conscience. I'd rather he never wrote another track than think someone of his talents was putting out tracks they didn't believe in.

Did you read my post properly man?

I like the guy's music - He's made new stuff under his Shpongle guise, which is great - so I would like to hear him write some new trance stuff too (or Posford techno, if we're making wish lists.. that'd make me cream my pants)!

What makes you think I want him to compromise his integrity? I just want him to write some new tracks! And I'm not ashamed to say, in my opinion, that I'm a *bit* fed up of hearing the old stuff. And yeah yeah I don't have to go if I don't wanna hear it, but this is a "forum", isn't it, where you say what your opinion is.

sheesh..

Simon Posford *has* been writing new stuff - most recently Metal Sharon tracks with Merv from Eat Static & he's currently working on a new Younger Brother album - at the risk of blatnt plugging - pick up a copy of the new Upfront magazine where there's an interview I did with him recently...

Let's just hope that they don't turn it down again....

I've always thought he would be so much better in the morning when everyone is completely fraggled with the sun

I agree - I thought the party was going off much better on Sunday in the sunshine, like when Tristan was playing. Everyone seemed to have hit their groove by then (and it was a flawless day, weather wise)!

By the way is the Metal Sharon stuff out yet or will it be by the summer?
