i was just wondering myself,what the thing with police and the trance parties scene?
r they against us,the people who r diggin?
is it because drugs? or is because security and order?
why r we so afraid of the police?
should we?
too many question marks here folks...

since many many people related trance music with drugs then we shouldnt wonder why police tries to eliminate the trance scene.If we were more carefull with the party organisation and the party security then all these wouldnt happen.
Just go to a party and you will see at least 10 people selling drugs to the others,also you will witness many fights,sometimes even injuries,so stop wondering whats wrong with the police and start asking yourself whats wrong with the parties and the people that go to parties....

Well, I haven't ever seen a fight in a party, Detox.
I think that the problem does start with the connection between drugs and parties. The connection exists, we can't deny that.
It's all part of the police trying to get up on the food chain of drug dealers, and they need to start looking for them somewhere.
Now, if you knew that there's a trance party and that there would probably be drug dealers there, where would you go looking for a drug dealer?
As for party ppl being afraid of the cops, well, it's because that the police is out there and because drug use is illegal...
BTW, in London, a few years back, the police stopped bugging the clubs that were drug based and started bugging the clubs that served alcohol. Statistics showed that people coming out of a house club for example are smiley and friendly and that people that had a lot to drink are violent and abusive (as if we couldn't tell them that ourselves )

i don't think the police r looking 4 drud dealers when coming 2 bust a party!!
i think that it's just an excuse.
if they wanna bust dealers, they wouldn't drive 30 minutes in the turf when they can find 100 heroin dealers in 100 meter radios in the cities..
the problem is that it's seem across the media that teenagers die from chemical use, so the police has 2 show presence 2 quiet down the big boss upstairs, the ones that will need votes from the public in the next elections and this is how they get their votes...
but this is also the same situation that we, if united together can change it, buy showing that we have a voice, and that people might need our votes. it's all politics in the end.. nothing more

after reading what olli said i realized that:
the 100 heroin dealers tend to deal with people from lower socio-economic backrounds. i.e. (and dont shoot me for saying this) the "dispensible people, people who are considered to be workers, replacable and unifluential.
some or most of the people who go to nature parties, trance parties or drug parties are the futre "leaders" of society. these are people who will ultimatly be he winners at the game of life.
most importantly, those are the people who's parents/superiors have some sort of influence on what is going on in society. what law maker will listen to parents who work in a factory who cnt spare a dime for his campaign when he can apease people who can put in millions into his private acount???
the only way to change the situation is for the people who are involved in the trance scene. or any other abused scene, to show people what they believe is wrong, and to help channel the laws power into more usefull areas.
and now that i think about it, when i was 15 or 16, i saw a lot of my friends (mostly female) eing sucked into the nature party scene, starting too use E on a regular basis etc. so no wonder parents got mad. its not against 20 somethigns its to prevent kids from fucking up their lives.
my two cents and a little more.

there are many reasons why the police get involved in the trance scene. Like Talolard said, it is to prevent the drug abuse of people and to maintain the security of the people.
In Los Angeles, there are always fights at parties. Thats why they have such tight security.
Also in countries, which have strict laws against raves, many organizers have no choice but to do raves in unpermitted areas. So the police come and close it down.
I say the police are just doing there job. Although it sucks for us.
But in Japan, we have a nice corrupt system. We have the Police and the trance scene. But diffrent from other countries is that we have the Yakuza(japanese mafia)in between. This undergound scene of the Yakuza is what prohibits the police from stopping any raves and parties. Only rarely do you see a rave stopped. Thats why there are so many parties here in japan. |

This thread is more or less the same as the "trance and drugs" thread.
The cops are bugging the trance scene because of the drugs especially.
Some would say that there are more drugs in clubs, so why don't the police go there. Cause usually in clubs before u enter they check u up, while in raves they don't do that, so anybody can enter with anything he wants.

What drugs do they use there in Greece then? All the ppl I saw in parties around here used drugs that made them friendlier then ever. (ppl mostly do E's and A's here)
Are greek party ppl big Charlie fans or something?
And I stand corrected by the way. The police doesn't only want to catch drug dealers in parties. They also want to hit the headlines in the newspapers - "The police busted an acid party last friday, 348 ppl were arrested, bla bla bla". It gives the public the false belief that the police is actually enforcing the law... that they are actually working...

When parties are busted here usually they are not mentioned in the news.
People here in Greece use also E's and some other pills but the bad thing is that they use quiet lot of them and not just one or 2,and i know that from friends of mine.
Also some people use some harder stuff....

OK, well, I'll give a short take on this.
Yes, there are drugs at parties. A lot even.
Yes, those drugs are VERY low on the risk factor (especially in Israel where mushrooms and speed still haven't made it big and charlie is just starting it's climb, but much more so in the house scene). And yes, it could be easier to catch heroin dealers, which ruin people's lives as well as not really acting in hiding or anything.
Yes, people care more about people that are less in the fringes of society and high numbers than the heroin busts, and that's (probably) the reason the police bust trance parties.
And last but not least, I expect heroin dealers just have a lot more money to bribe the police officers with. So they look in the next best spot (from their narrowminded perspective)

well,
when i talk to my parents and tell them im going next week to a party... and the place will be known only at the day of the party, they ask me why ? so i say: because of the cops, and then they always say: because of the drugs...
so, ppl, our problem here is IGNORENCE.
half the world is smoking a much more dangerous drug (NICOTIN) and thousends die from it every year, and at the same time alcohol which is one of the more dangerous drugs that screw up the health and the head is legit.
and most ppl at least here in isra-hell still think that smoking a joint every now and then is worse.
so this is our problem here and there.
cause WE all know that there are drugs EVERYWHERE.
thats why there is no reason what so ever why the cops should look for it at nature parties.
accept the fact that its easier for the cops.
