funny to mention but i feel like i must: this cd is trancey.... i know it first sounds like "what? ofcourse it is, its psy-trance" but i mean it: its not built for just floor playing, its not fully loaded with gimmicks... it takes you into a state of trance.
1,4,6,9 are my favs.           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

Where's the variety? It seems like the same core sounds are used in every song. The whole album blends together and leaves me unimpressed. The first three tracks are decent but nothing we haven't heard before. The rest? Plain full on nothing more.

I have been impressed by Polaris' past releases on compilations, but this album just doesn't have enough different ideas in it to justify its release.

Sorry to be negative (as so few people seem willing to be on this forum), but I wish I hadn't got this.

Polaris album does have its moments, but all in all I don't find it any different to the billion other full on albums out there. It's not like there's anything particular wrong with it. I just can't find anything explicit in it, just another fish in the sea, at least in my opinion.

That's probably not the best way to start a review, but trust me, this time there are no alternatives. I've had this album for well over a month now, probably for well over two really. Atfirst I kept on telling myself that I didn't have any time to review it but I've lately realized that I simply can't review it. Not in a way Neorobiotic wanted me to anyways. If there's nothing to praise, there just simply is nothing to praise. Doh.

There are lots of kickdrums in this album. That's great if you happen to like them, no? There are quite a few hi-hat hits in the album aswell. That's great news for hi-hat lovers and a total blast for people with a combined kickdrum plus hi-hat fetish, yes? There are many basslines too. They come in quite a few different configurations. Regeneration has one which is obviously working closely with the kickdrum. Well now that I think about it, it sure seems like all the tunes on the album have almost identical basslines. But then again, who gives a shit about basslines? Ah, I forgot to mention, the kickdrums are pretty similar to each other too, but that's no suprise really now is it? I mean kickdrum is a kickdrum, there's no other way. Not unless you use your imagination a little. Artists should do that more often.

So what about the moments? Like I said in the very beginning, I quote myself here,(the first time ever I think) "album does have its moments", but where are they then? What are they like and do they come often? Do they prefer tea over coffee and are they perhaps vegetarians? Or was/am I maybe talking bullshit?

There are times when Polaris manages to break thru from the "usual crap" into something much more unique. I've decided to call those moments "full om". "Full" because the tempo is quite high and "om" because it makes your mind wonder and wander. These moments are quite well hidden and will definetly not open if you're having the music served as background noise. I'm sure you could do umm, things to make them less hidden, but if you require those things to like your music maybe there's something wrong with the picture? Another way to hear them is to turn the volume up and concentrate. Just shut the fuck up and listen to the sounds. Can't miss them, not if you're there with an open mind.

Well anyways to cut out the crap I must say that this album was, like the first paragraph in a way said, a great dissapointment for I was awaiting something similar to Tikal's absolutely fabulous debut. Less formulas, more innovativity, be a different kind of a fish and stand out from the ecosystem.

Still waiting to hear your live at Transit for I've heard so many positive things about it, maybe it will change my perception of the album? If that's the case I'll promise to do another review.           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."
