You guys might be right but in the beginning I didn't charge anything. I gave me a better chance of getting jobs and and that time my skills weren't that great either. But after 5-6 years of dj'ing I now charge a fee depending on what kind of party it is and of course where it is. Would still play in Brazil for free though.

If the party is professional and that means that the organizer wants to get money from it, I dont think a dj should play for free in any case....

it`s a old problem .....
the scene is not enough professional ...
many people want to be like a star ....
first they go on party and dream about get the place of the master of the ceremony ....
and after they make a party not for people or for the scene but only for himself ...
they start to download many tracks on the net and start to make a party ...
of course they put them to play ( like a professional ) at the best time to show him to everybody ...
how this kind of people can respect dj , decoration, staff , etc....
first they are jalouseeeeeeeee ....
and want to be a star ... they dram to see them at the top .... with many fans !!!!
this is shit ....
and since long long time ... since the begining it`s like this .... not enough respect and professionalist !!!!
so after it`s real professional spend energy , time, money .......
coz a real party ..... it`s first to get the money before start anythings ....
but it`s like a dream ... coz too many people make party without money and after they cry a lot that u can imagine for that u agree to get only your transport .... fuck !!!!
what`s this ????????
dj and all work inside are not responsable about the party ... they done the job so need to be pay ...... why is so complexe to understand that ... why ?????
