there are no different oppinions.
psychedelic culture is:

-strong heterogenity of the groups of people attaining psychedelic events

but those otherwise very distinct people come together to have a psychedelic or mystical experience together.
the music is functional and the aim of the music is to "derange" your perception while simultaneously it gets you into a meditative state of consciousness.
the "deranging" aspect can either be weird, dreamy, frightening, impressive, euphoric, lovely, bizarre, majestic, anthemic, sweeping or sinister.

-freedom of expression, being accepted as you are for who you are, no matter where you come from or how much money you have...

-opposing standardisation, commercialsim, ego-tripping etc.

-enabling everyone to feel the unlimited depth of you mind in order to appease you and make grow your inner strenght:
fulfilled and happy people (the trance dance experience affects the deepest areas of the mind and gives you enormous energy, self-confidence, love, compassion etc.) are much stronger and more difficult to control than the shapeable mainstream and therefore represent a menace to "society"/ industry ("society" here being defined in the "language" of the establishment).
happy people are not driven by fear and obedience.

-close to shamanism, or, better, neo-shamanism (archaic nature VS high tech)

these aspects definitely are the roots of OUR psychedelic culture!
those who deny this and mock at mysticism, spiritualism, love, resistance etc. - you´re wrong in here, because it´s not single persons defining what OUR CULTURE is about, but it´s those universal or abstract aspects which are the very core of it.

mysticism is not about dragons and stuff like that.
in the medieval ages, for instance, mysticism was a effective way for women to offer resistance to the powerful dogmatist church which claimed to be the one and only "access" to god.
mysticism enabled individuals (especially women) to be autonomous and follow their own path and make their own EXPERIENCES rather than listening to the preacher and following the rules of the corrupt church.
so, mysticism, as a part of psychedelic culture, is about RESISTANCE and EMANCIPATION.

What does medieval girl church have to do with modern psychedelic trance parties?

Is Alice Schwarzer also part of the psytrance philosophy coz she stands for EMANCIPATION?

well, of course alice schwarzer is not part of the psychedelic culture .
but emancipation definitely is a big part of our alternative culture.
this neo-hippie thing to go to goa to reject responsibilities and drop out of society was a bit naive, but the emancipation aspect survived, even if we have matured (have we??? ).
it´s all about freedom and self-determination.

What is trance culture? I've heard it from many but never got proper answer. Culture to do what ?

Deejayridoo, where did you get it from and how you explain that 80% of this forum or 90% of artists not fit your trance culture definition but still there? I think trance culture is about get nuts from lsd and talk neo- spiritual-bullshit afterwards.
want more philosophy? ok. ppl in trance afraid of real life that why most of them not dealing with daily life go to party inside some dark forest and take drugs dancing to some defective sounds calling it greatest uncommercial music. only few got real life but really enjoy this kind of music. Want more bizzare culture, read Terence Mckeena's works it's much more "creative" than Madhouse or Fightclub movies.
