For me this album marks a special point in a friends life...a point of coherence and maturity, a point of wholeness...
The journey created by Mr Yuli on this CD is so complete! the perfect warm organic sound, the tribal percussion, the acid lines, the click and glitch sounds, the perfect side chaining...the Story! The vibe! The love!
i try to find a favorite and cant, its like a family...no favorites...all kids are beautiful, smart, talented....no preferred son or daughter...Yes, one is wilder, the other a bit shy, one is a go getter and the younger one is a hippie...all born equal uner the "Perfect Stranger" home

Bliss is the destination - Emotions the vessel!

A classic was born...Congratulations Yuli!           "....or is it???"

More of the same:

There is a lot more here than sidechained pads and predictable song structure. But that's what we've come to expect from Iboga artists. I've given it about ten plays and it keeps getting better.

I particularly like the exploration of ideas and the subtlety - less is more approach. these tracks are beautiful without having to try too hard. Every sound seems as though it belongs and none really overstay their welcome.

Right now I'm just listening at home but I have to imagine several of these would be devastating to the dance floor.

I can't wait for the Atmos and Elegant Universe remixes, if there will be any.           ELECTRON EYES / MARK-EVAN (NOR. CAL)

Perfect Stranger- Free Cloud (Iboga, Oct. 2008)
1. Clear Vision 07’ 9:51
2. Stardust 8:29
3. Simple Cells 7:59
4. Sweet Water Dolphin 10:13
5. Easy 11:29
6. Free Cloud 9:34
7. No 1 11:23
8. W 8:59

Here’s a 3rd Perfect Stranger album and a 7th overall for the man behind the stranger- Yuli Fershtat.
Free Cloud is the best trance album of 2008 for me. Free Cloud is a trance revival- it’s fresh, it’s groovy, it’s psychedelic, it’s hypnotic and constantly interesting. It also sounds so fucking good!
Perfect Stranger delivers a blend of beats and sounds that cross genres. In his lab the mad scientist amalgamated and fused the worlds of techno, trance, house and electro and then cooked them in thick emotional psychedelic gravy- gravy for the brain.
This album also made me realize finally what it is that is so special in Yuli’s music, and why I always like it- Yuli creates rhythms that talk. It was always there, but here it is maximized. Just listen to them, they talk a different language in every track, they chant, they babble, they whisper and they giggle, but they always have something to say.
This is also so much of an album, because it feels like everything is connected and like there’s a real intent behind it all- it’s clear it was made as an album and it’s fun to listen to as an album- from start to finish, it just flows. Good word also to the more then fitting clean cover.
I really like it all here, but I’ll just give a special mention to the emotion dripping Clear Vision ’07, where Yuli is having a dialogue with himself over a time gap of 8 years; The simple, yet horribly dancefloor effective Simple Cells. Yuli sells and we’re buying; The epic get-the-fuck-outta-my-way-I-need-to-dance-now Easy; Free Cloud- the dancefloor scream generator; and finally the airy-wavy W.

Bottom line: Best album ever from Mr. Fershtat- The strangest perfect. A pure psychedelic trance experience. If you don’t own this you’re doing yourself a big wrong.
Favorites: The whole thing, really.

is it just me, or this album is similar to BLT's 2nd album - presence?
i just feel it's influenced by presence a lot.
(which is ofcourse not a bad thing at all, because presence was a really original piece of music)
what do you think?

I reckon all the praise this album's getting is fully deserved.
Each track is manna from heaven on the dancefloor, whether it be a steamy club or a massive outdoor festival, even the livingroom.
It's a sound that's restrained and takes its time but delivers when it needs to, it's druggy, sexy, epic, nostalgic, but also futuristic and forward thinking all at the same time.
Faves: dancefloor stretcher Simple sell and the absolutely stunning W (epicness of early X-dream proportions)
It's damn rare to hear such an allround, well-balanced album.
Yuli's best one yet.

Yulik, that's a god damn awesome work here. The first 2 and the last 3 tracks are already classics in my book and the rest are very solid as well. It's basically one of those few albums a year that makes me be proud to be Israeli. Not only it proves that there's still great music from here but it also sounds so ahead everything else being released in the scene as well.
My only complaint would be the somewhat lack of a flow among few tracks and also I'd wish to hear more of the Techno side (like track 1) and less of the Prog-Psy (like track 3 and 4) that drags the album down from complete and utter awesomeness.
Still, top of the crop of 08'
