what are we gonna listen to? chiken farts?? ha ha
how about no recording medium, no cd's, no tapes, no vinyl, just live performances??? think about it: partys will be overrun by music hungry people, no loops and samples will be stolen/overused/abused, and music will not sound the same like it does most of the time, plus musicians will be making decent living out of it, and they won't have to deal with money-hungry record labels.
sounds ideal to me

um.....NO
mp3's are great...u can fit so many of them on a harddrive....bwahahahahaha
i still dont see why you are bitching about mp3's beign played at a party....i agre about the pirating, thing. but please.....if you can tell the diference between 320k mp3s and a normal cd, then you shoudl put your acid in your pocklet..and uuuh, take those golden ears of yours and become a mastering engineerr.....
this whole mp3 story is becoming redundant
the point of a party is too enjoy yourself and dance, not fucking stress about whether the dj is playing an mp3, stop being lamers
i bet half of you who are bitchign about mp3 , own a stack of mp3's.....and just lik anything in any other scene, its fashionable to bitch about somthing.....
mp3 is just the in-thing bitchery for psy goeers...
thanks
represent~~
btw....a better "cure", people stop being lame, grow up and instead of spending there hard earned cash on drugs, alcohol or cigarettes, go and buy your favourite artists cd instead.....
I dont do the drugs....I AM the drugs |

Vinyl is crap quality, so this idea is absolutly not good.

Not only that, vinyl is expensive to produce. A small psy label in Brazil can't afford to press 7000 vinyls. CD's are much much cheaper, provide better sound quality too. Besides, ripping vinly is no harder then ripping CD. |

ever since music found its way into recording medium (tape, vinyl, casette, cd, whatever) piracy always been an issue.
i don't know if many of you remember this, but even in the old days, (when vinyl was dominating market just like cd's do now), people were cutting illigal vinyl copies too.
and to answer Nik©
vinyl ain't the past broh, it's in the present very much so, and hopefully will stay for a while.

true but you simply cant compare the scale of copying and ripping today with older days. It's so much easier to rip today and almost all got access to the internet and got computers... before you needed expensive DAT machines, Mini Disc machines etc. and indeed the right contacts to get the music. Now you just need to connect to a friends ftp... it's so much easier and many million times more spread today. |

again i need to caugh and say b***S***
CD quality is not better than vinyl quality. Actually Vinyl quality is much more suited for Dj'ing since the tracks can be boosted (warmer more dynamic analog sound) much better than on CD's who are very limited. |

estimated pressing cost per vinyl is about $1 per copy (depends on the quantity of order).
if you think there's something wrong with quality of the sound on vinyl, i'd say get better cartiges/monitoring system or better yet go see a doctor (no offense), but this whole cd is being of the ultimate sound quality is absolute bullcrap. If it wasn't sad, i'd laugh at posts like this.
music on cd: exists in a digital realm of numbers, and as such always has that artificial/digital/mechanical artifact to it.
while music on vinyl exists in a pure analogue domain, it tends to have characteristics of warmth/depth and life, making its sounds unique.
and why would you wanna rip cd or vinyl anyways? are you into this whole piracy thing??

it's not a mystical thing folks. stuff thats analog doesn't have "characteristics of lfie". please.
it comes down to sampling rate. i.e. does the rate of cd's come close enough to the real sound wave to be indistinguishable to the human ear?
in most cases, the answer is yes.
plus don't forget the HIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSing and cRaCkCRacKcrACkcRacKling
  sound is vibration |
