Vinyl is crap quality, so this idea is absolutly not good. People should stop spinning vinyl. This also isn't a solution, but raises quality at the few parties where a dj still spin vinyl.

To find a solution is hard. Midimilliz came to the point that our scene is based on illegal copyright breaking, so where and what are we without?

it would maybe only slow down the process.

plus vinyl is for purists/elitists.

yeah, i do understand that this isn't exactly feasible, but you got to admit the purity of spinning back in the day when you needed to dig around stores to find the perfect record or dubplate. and if you couldn't find the record, you couldn't hear the song. whenever i play out, i usually get booked to play a breakbeat set, but i always throw in the few psy tracks i have on vinyl....its a good blend....but if i could find more psy records, i'd buy so many of them. And i must disagree with EYB wholeheartedly; there's such a warm and natural sounding tone that you get out of vinyl that you just can't replicate with cd's. digital music sounds so mechanical....but i suppose that isn't necessarily a bad thing in the realm of electronic music...

Vinyl? Hmm let’s not go into the past
Maybe we should look into more innovative ideas
I think Best solution is electronic mp3 detectors which will notify party goers that the mp3 is playing at the party...? Maybe that will stop the Dj’s from playing this stuff... But really, how can you stop an mp3 thing, if all u see in stores are mp3 players?

mp3 players,mp3 sites,mp3 free-downloads,cd rippers,cd copiers,artist friend(...)
not talking about all the pirate software that is used in this scene as well.           The fact that no one understands you doesn't make you an artist:.

ever since music found its way into recording medium (tape, vinyl, casette, cd, whatever) piracy always been an issue.
i don't know if many of you remember this, but even in the old days, (when vinyl was dominating market just like cd's do now), people were cutting illigal vinyl copies too.

and to answer Nik©
vinyl ain't the past broh, it's in the present very much so, and hopefully will stay for a while.

The perfect solution would be to ban music.
No music = no mp3s
