i totally agree with you, tray!
goa & psy trans (not all, though) is a cosmic symphony to make me aware of realities in another dimention. and all of my body cells recall the time when i was praying for the sun making my body move to assimilate myself with all the elements in the universe. i feel so alive from the genetic level at the moment. no other music than masterpieces in classical music (Mozart, Mahler, Villa-Lobos!) may not be able to make our genes feel something (at least, for me) .
trans music is a music which should never be compared with other shitty dance musics, for sure.

most of the people who cant hear trance are the people who are close minded and are too busy making fun of it. those people i disrespect.
i know some people who just don't have the stomach for the beats, and easily get headakes.., well, i understand that, and i give them some what alittle more respect, but personally, i say fight the headakes and enjoy the beautiful sounds! |

I really hate when people don't attend to listen to the stuff behind the kicks.
They think it's just boom boom boom boom, and some think it's only boom tss boom tss...
Why can't they listen to the things beyond the booms??
Is it that Hard?

Here's my point of view !
I guess it is hard for ppl who don't understand the real meaning of this
It is hard for ppl who were raised on ROCK and all those stuff , with what they call EMOTIONS .
I'm sure u've all noticed how ppl tend to call electronic music a non-sentimental music .
Which , imho , is VERY emotional .
These melodies , the beats ; are penetrating , they penetrate into your soul , mind and body !
Together they raise the mood , the rhythm and the euphoria .
I can bull u about this all day long , but still , the average individual won't understand this .
People tend to be close-minded , old-fashioned and tend to connect trance with drugs .
When ppl hear that word they avoid getting close , the keep away .
Here's my word on it ... if ppl tried to widen their minds ,
tried understanding the 'face behind the mask' , tried listening to every beat , kick , snare , vocal , melody , hi-hat
and THE combination of all , maybe they would understand !
There's hope for us all , BUT till ppl start getting this , the trance music will end ...
Just think of it , it's gonna be like a recycle ... how much creativity can ppl have ?!
IMHO , at some point it's gonna end , just like classical music ( Have u ever heard of Samuel Barber , BTW ? He's got such beautiful touching melodies !) .
MTV music is very catchy , easy-listening , commercial and well published .
If we were running MTV , this world would have looked different :)
But hey , let's face the reailty - this is what we have , it's good and enough !
Like u guys said - Live and Let live !
As long as you enjoy this , u shouldn't give a f*ck about anyone .

with no connection to annything that had been said in this thread i just saw the comersial to the new drink like red bull xtc and it was really funny with the old people singing and specially that under the name of the drink xtc they say " NIDLAKTI" very amusing!! |

There used to be days when I'd be really pissed of at people who couldn't understand trance.
I thought to myself "don't they notice what's going on here?! The power? The depth? The abstract ideas? The groove deep down?"
And then I figured to myself, well, with MTV, Galgalatz, all of the pressure to hear "cool" music, what could I expect.
Then I discovered Ambient, Jungle, Jazz and found that each has it's own strengths and weaknesses, and that they can be as deep, powerful, abstract, groovy, whatever as much as trance, sometimes much more, only in different ways.
And guess what? Many people who hear trance told me "that's just boring, too progressive, not organized, empty, and the list goes on".
People who can hear trance may have a wider view of music, but remember - that doesn't make us not have the very human weaknesses (including the fact that we're sure that the music we love most is the best), and we shouldn't point out something that we all have to a certain degree in ourselves in other people and say "hey, you just don't get it".
No one gets everything. |

myself i believe that ppl who think this wa about trance have heard probably club trance, or mayby nitzhonot once, and set their minds on "boom tss"... they cannot be changed, unless you put some psychedalic in their ears :)
