Nikita Tselovalnikov (26), the producer behind Penta, started to make music when he was twelve years old after his fanatic admiration of the masters of Italian pop scene such as Toto Cutugno and Adriano Celentano.
After that came the music school and countless rock, punk and industrial projects now forgotten by history. The Penta project initially started as an amusement for friends in December 2000, but quickly grew into a serious act on the San Francisco trance scene.
Nikita has helped organise and promote various trance events with the San Francisco production collective 'Redtribe'. He has played at parties and major festivals around the United States and Brazil. His music is played by top DJ's all over the world, including Goa Gil, Loic, P_Mac, and many many
others.
Being born in Leningrad, Russia, Nikita uses a lot of Eastern European motifs in his powerful and psychedelic night tracks. He is signed with Spectral Concepts, the new San Francisco label specialising in innovative psychedelic music.
His first release was the hard morning hit called 'Zeynep' on Spectral Concepts compilation 'American Rotation'. Check out his future work on Spectral Concepts, Ketuh Records (Portugal), and others.

Penta has being doing amazing music, we have heard him at YPYPOTY and at the BOOM live this year and he really has it going. Two of his new trax are being released on the KETUH RECORDS Compilation RADICAL SIMPLICITY next month. They are 1001 Hangovers and XML. This new compilation that also includes Polaris,Silicon SOund, Kluster, Fractal Glider, Dark NEbula, Membrana (aka DJ MIGAS) and a new Portuguese project LUKKAS promises to be a killer Xmas release:)) |
