I live in the Netherlands, and prefer semi-small gatherings (20-200 people). I've organized twilight
& dark style evenings in the past, opening up with electro and closing with frenchtek. These days I'm really into the psytech sound (X-dream - Irritant, Spirallianz, Midimiliz, Nuclear Ramjet, Opsy, etc). I'm planning a new small scale party which would last until about 6 am. I'm thinking about the following setup:
11pm-midnight: ambient/drones/soundscapes
midnight-1am: dubtechno (Deepchord label etc)
1-2am: warm deep progressive (Kompakt label
etc)
2-3am: Techy psyhouse (Duca, FM Radio Gods, Khainz, etc)
3-4.30am: Psytechno (Nuclear Ramjet, Midimiliz, Spirallianz, Opsis, PPS Project, etc etc).
4.30-6am: Ultimae-style chilled psy
No full-on in the line-up, but my plan (as usual) is to convert techno/progressive lovers to the psy side (and vice versa, of course). I'd love to get some good techno DJ who can do the Tresor style deep monotonous urgent techno style... Totally getting into that, and it has great crossover potential with psytech and psyprog.
And yeah, not much melodic stuff. I do love twilight, forest and good non-cartoony darkpsy, but there's enough regular psy parties around where you can dance to that. |
