I can't believe nobody has mentioned the X-Men sample that was used to death a while ago. "Mutation...it is the key to our evolution". My God, I was going crazy with that sample.

I like samples and think there are intelligent ways to use them.

An artist can remove some words from a movie, and give them another meaning in a psytrack!

Also a sample can transmit messages in ways that no noise can! Samples have much more specific meaning than noises. Samples can make you think about specific issues during trance!

About overused samples, like the 51 times stronger than coffee , I think some times artists work in parallel without knowing other people are using the same sample.

I think that if you choose the sample carefully, even Smallville samples can make a extraordinary track. It's all about choosing the right words and thinking about their message...

If you like samples visit my database: http://www.fullonline.net

Respect!

you are so right man how would you know what other producers are using at the other corner of the world and how would you know if the movie is gonna break the box office ?

Btw cool site fullon !

There is no fucking way they didn't hear each others tunes but they used the same sample anyway.

I think you'll find you're wrong about that

I'm really tired of all the bassdrum samples in all these tracks

lol. as kaz points out, sampling isn't just about stupid quotes from movies

but speaking of stupid quotes, if it's too recognizeable it brings me out of it... unless it's some sick twisted track that pops in a little homer simpson for good measure

something about good ol' homer eases the tension sometimes           sound is vibration

I would kiss a buttock of the artist who would put a sample of Russ Meyer's "Faster Pussycat Kill Kill" hahaha !

Back to the topic, when you get fed up with a sample, you should maybe wonder who is smelling the s**t.. the sample ? the movie ? or the artist who used it ? hehe..

Answer is obvious for me..           .
