Yeh, try the wickerman festival: psy trance to reggae to folk... You can check it out on www.thewickermanfestival.co.uk or go to www.timelord2012.co.uk to find out about the psy. Its up in South of Scotland but well worth the voyage... amazing scenery and great variety of styles and acts.. a bit like early glastonbury. |

The flyer for August Bank Holiday gathering will be out soon! It will be 4 days and there will be 3 stages. Beautiful camping area for tents and caravans. Also the ticket prices will be very affordable, maybe even better than that! Let's keep the spirit alive!!! More info to come soon! |

thanks for the replies... i realised its not the indoor/outdoor thing, its the fact that the trance is london isnt psytrance. its way too hard, and the parties always seem to be mixed with hard house. i'm trying to find somewhere that is exclusively psytrance, and where people go to connect with other people, not to pack their brains with amphetamines and dance aggressively, smacking of insecurity. its really starting to bother me, cos i love trance music and the soul behind it, and in london it seems soulless. i know there must be others out there with the same views as me - so the question remains - where can i go???

Sounds like Caligua has been to Antiworld - cannot think of anywhere else that has psy trance AND hard house - to be honest those parties are more unusual in their mix of music - so seems like you may have been unlucky in finding what you're looking for. (There hasnt really been much hard house/psy-trance cross over - though there is starting to be a lot of similarities in some hard dance producers sounds and some Israeli full-on sound - but thats another topic for another day)

just reread my post and noticed it was a bit ambiguous... i meant hard house is played at the same parties, but on different floors. this just brings in a different type of crowd i suppose. i havent been to antiworld but would expect a smaller version of the infected show at brixton academy... which i love, and hated. if that makes sense. any small intimate clubs playing psytrance? sorry about my bitching before... i just take time to adjust to new things. have had some amazing parties in this city since i posted... anyone going to full moon?

Looks like you have been to an Antiworld event without knowing it - all the Infected Mushroom shows in the last few years in London have been put on by the Antiworld people..

Hey Caligula,
The partys in London are wonderful .. of course is a diferent kind of party, the weather is not good for openair partys but during the summer you can find some squats in parks like Hampstead Heat. Im from Brazil and I think the brazilian partys is more or less like SA partys and at the beginer i found London partys quite underground but then after a while I could enoy a lot, meet just nice people for aroun the world, the best producers always play in London, we have always 2 partys per weekend, betwen big indoor festivals or quite small squats ... now im in India (NO partys here) but 1st of july im coming back to London ... we can keep in touch to go to some nice partys togheter ... also there are some amazing festivals happening in july and august in Europe ... lets go?
