i wasn't dissing london at all, but pointing out that it is one of the more undesirable psytrance countries in the world.

I had a siimilar debate with an artist on the UK forum, who couldn't stomach that I could publically show a mild distaste for the UK scene.. and I responded thus:

"Like I said I really didn't mean to sound negative or offensive, but merely gave my honest opinion.

I personally don't like indoor as much as outdoor and perhaps psy is also at home indoor, but for me indoor is more of a 'fix' of live music and dancing while waiting for the summer season..and cannot be compared in standard to outdoor. Once again this is my personal opinion which I initially conveyed to SiriusSound, to which I am entitled.

I personally don't enjoy glowsticks, as I don't see it as a 'pretty' way of dancing. I also associate it with people who insist on dancing with their shirts off on stage facing everyone. And I find this off-putting.

Colin, I don't let this get in my way of a good time, in fact I don't think about it at parties, which I still do attend regularly in the UK.. instead I enjoy the atmosphere and friendly people - which is a privilege enjoyed anywhere within the scene throughout the globe. I was merely trying to give my thoughts on the UK psytrance scene to a newcomer.. from a foreigner's perspective.

You label me snobbish merely because I hold London's psy club culture in a lower esteem than the 8 or 9 other countries in which I've attended festivals. Its no fault of the UK people, but rather the Draconian licensing laws, and poor weather. Which are both facts. For this reason I find Boom festival more enjoyable than Brixton Academy, Rhythms of Peace more inspiring than Mass, Sonica more enlightening than SEone, Full Moon more fun than Jack's Club.

Is that fair? Am I really being snobbish for holding preference? Or must I be diplomatic to keep the local's feelings intact, and merely say to SiriusSound 'Yeah, the parties here rock.. See you at the next one!'. I attempted to give him a view I wish someone had given me (whether good, bad or neutral) when I first arrived.. in order to give him something which to possibly identify after he experiences it first hand.

All being said, I have a great respect for the UK promotors and Artists.. and the culture here is truly unique."

no more off-topic from me, sorry...           difficile est non saturam scribere
