Other types of dance music..

I'm curious, how prominent are other forms or dance music in your respective countries.
Here in the UK, the psy-trance scene is pretty small in comparison to other types of dance music (eg house, hard-house, techno, hardcore, trance, ambient, drum & bass, hip hop).
In Israel it seems that psy-trance is pretty big, and there isn't much room for other styles (is this true?).
How 'obvious' are other styles of music in different countries? |

over here in belgium mosst popular are house, techno and clubtrance, untill a few years ago most psyparties were quite underground and many of them were givenin squatted places. nowadays the psytrance scene becomes more and more crowded with arsims(we call them johnnies). our biggest parties are organised by dancedelic, and i think there's a maximum of 4000 ppl coming there. |

Psy is pretty big here in terms of people amount. But the media is still in the MTV euro-dance bubble. Psy Trance for them is still weird kids with long hair on drugs, and arsim with their arsmobiles pumping the latest full-on killar tunes.

like Lord Deo, I can't speak for the whole US either, but around the northeast all electronic dance music is underground. but the more popular kinds are house, techno, drum n bass, clubtrance, hardcore. psytrance is very very very very small. |

Most popular dance genere in israel is New York House actually, as i see it... Most common around here.
But psytrance is on close seconds. God bless the Falafel  |

Here in South Florida I believe House and progressive dominates the scene.
DnB happens once in a while but it is quite underground. Even Breaks is pretty underground. Only house has a steady club audience of 2000ppl + every weekend. Euro trance dissapeared with the first Space and specially now without 93.1.
Psy trance is very very small. We are a core of 50ppl and when parties happen we are about 140. This weekend we will have Infected  and next month we will have Analog Pussy and Astral.

here in Detroit its all about Techno !!
Psytrance is non-existent.
Round the corner in Chicago its mainly House and Euro pop. But they have a slighter better psy scene considerin the midwest is quiet most times.

in germany 4/4-ELECTRO is the top-style in the clubs now. because it includes elements from house, techno, trance, hiphop, electronic roots. and ist very conform to people which are not into hard technostyles and just want to dance and have party.
imo its the very future and i love this style because everything is allowed (like in goatrance and psytrance also everything was allowed in the production for a long time).
anyway iit a matter of time when it will grow up overall in europe and the globe. its fucking working well!
