Does anyone know the name of the French Sound System they used at Soulclipse Festival 2nd Stage (the round one) on the last couple of days?

Thought that was a far more powerful sound than the Funktion Ones they used on the main stage.           The music was like new black polished chrome
that came over the sky like liquid night.

best systems for outdoor parties imo are:
- Funktion One
- TurboSound
- Nexo

F1 and turbosound have imo the best low frequency response from any system i have ever heard outdoors. clean, crisp and clear sound...never too harsh and never hurts your ears too much after hours of standing in front of the speakers.
imo its worth forking out the extra $$$ to have satisfied trancers and DJ's. You will run a more successful crew and have punters wanting more from you.

HI There!
For the last few years I've been responsible for tuning the Voov second floor sound system. Besides having a "trance experienced" operater on site for parties, we made a big breakthrough sound wise once we stopped using analogue EQ s and took the signal straight into the digital cross over and did all corrections there....BIG difference.
Generally speaking as long as you cut deep subs <35Hz (extra power), boost between 45-200 Hz (we love the bass) dip the mids(ouch) and then boost again from 2,5 KHz on (take off frequencies) you cant really go wrong Fine tune to taste and enjoy the waves!

best i have ever heard was the VooV/VuuV mainstage PA.....not the loudest....but they create a room with amazing fx and the servo drive/motor bass goes deeper than any other "normal" speaker with a higher degree of effectiveness

Used to be mackie systems for me were the best to listen to or play on, but now I would suggest that there is no better system on the planet than OPUS. I have never heard my music so clearly, mixing on OPUS monitors is a joy, the bass is really rich, highs are fantastic. Only problem with these units is the cost a small fortune and weigh a tonne, but it is definately worth it.

we just used a funktion one system (3 res4's, 2 base bins and an ultra low freq bin on each side) for the discovalley party last weekend and all i can say is "wow!"

i can definately recommend them for any party of 500 or more people. they are a bit too expensive for parties less than 500 people though...

i hope more people start using them!

i totally agree with funktion one system too!

i had experience at Vangard@Los Angels with Christopher Lawrence & John 00 Fleming night(close enough to psy-trance!??), listening music with funktion one was amazing!

the bass is deep but clear and not hurt my ears at all=D!

i thought japanese psy festival always have good sound system...so actually pretty surprised at this topic...
few month ago, i had chance to ask Mr. John 00 Fleming "which club has best sound system u've ever been to?" and he answered,
club is Zouk in singapore, and festival is gathering 2005 in japan.
so i thought Japan always have good sound system....:0

Does that mean that you find the sound clearer, without the analogue EQ ?

What kind of digital crossover unit did you use ?

I seem to have the opposite oppinion; that for "any" kind of rig, its nice/needed to have an analogue front eq - and that having one can clear out alot of messy frequency's (which i havent come around a digital box that could). My experience is from Turbosound, and in indoor parties... And my point is just that, bypassing the eq, is not always "nice".           www.parvati-records.com

I've been trying to get promoters here in the US to start understanding that Turbosound and Funktion One are where it's at, ESPECIALLY for dance music. We run a Turbosound Aspect 880 rig here in Coloardo for our open air Trance gatherings, and there simply is no substitute besides F1.

A new club here in Denver opened with North America's only brand new quadrophonic Dancestack configiration, and it pounds, but as it is made for clubland, our Aspect system, with its long throw, horn loaded mid/hi enclosures, is better for shows with a much deeper crowd.

F1's Resolution series is fantastic for this as well, especially outdoors, but we've become Turbosound fanatics here in Colorado, and our Aspect system is gaining quite a bit of attention.

Hi Russ,

I think they were new JBL speakers.
There were 8 huge subwoofers (20inch?)
8 (15inch?) Mids and 8 high (12inch?)

I dont know about the ratio but they were stacked to form a pyramid on each side of the stage. The kick and bass was really booming, you could feel the sound waves vibrating through your body.

This 20,000 Watt system was the same price I was quoted for a 3000 Watt Funktion One System.

we run JBL and crown amps over here in the states in its some of the cleanest sound I've heard for psy especially for the money, 20,000 watts of it would be insane! I'm suprised you didnt piss off any police! haha
