well it goes without saying that the ott, younger brother, shpongle style tracks are definitely heavily played...
for me a good deep chill psychedelic dj, not always just a psy-chill dj mindyou, is one who digs deep and plays songs that are totally unidentifiable., cause i like being able to release from music identification headgames, and if i have heard a track 25 times before its just not the same as if someone searched way far back and found some really beautiful sounds and meshed them with the environment and whats happening around the chill area at the time instead of just dropping the acceptable choices that most psy chill listeners would know. you know>?
good luck.
try some eraser vs johalka at -15%?
as long as you are being creative with it . and relaxing, and playing from your heart....

There are soooooo many labels out there that have music that's original and diverse, instead of just the logical evolution of Brian Eno like most of the standardized chill-out acts. Hope I've been of some help.

Well, I agree with you that there are many genres/labels/artists to play in a set, but how come 95% of IDM artists consider Brian Eno one of their biggest influences? I can't see/hear any Brian Eno in any "standardized chill-out acts" nowadays. Or maybe you meant the poppier Eno...

PKS you are may be feeling a little bit jealous because your name it`s not there???? ,just kidding but I think that you should be a little bit more careful with your expressions, you actually offended me (not really )
And Jay the only thing I said was that I`m not gonna play any L.S.D tune because it`s already quite a lot of this sound not because I don`t have choices.(If you are talking about me )
But still everybody who knows me know what`s my favorite label, but ....
No problem the chill-out world is quite bigger that only L.S.D. tunes.

I would say that if, for example, Youth is playing live straight after you, don't stuff your set full of all his tunes because you can bet he's planning to play them too and as somebody already said - a live set can be awkward to re-arrange.

If he's playing 6 hours after you, or on a different day, then play what you like.

Its not an ego thing - its just a bit boring for the audience to hear the same tunes repeated every 45 minutes when there is so much good music to play.

funny thing happened to me... at gaian mind festival
somehow i forgot that huva network was half magnus from solar fields, who was sitting behind me as i played.
i was building and flowing this 4/4 chill set , almost my time was up, and i had gotten to the place where i lately drop some huva network. so i did, and with the fader half way up, the mix going, i look behind me as i realized my ooops
and i was like, um , oh shit, sorry mate.
he was like um , its too late now,
... so i mixed out as early as possible. cause i didnt want to steal the man's thunder.

i dont think he got around to playing that track on his mainstage set as he had some power difficulties. and his chill set was the next evening, so i was off the hook i guess.

basically i left my bluetech, kaya project, scorb, shakta, and loopus in fabula cds at home so i wouldnt be tempted to play them , as they were there to play their own tunes. but somehow the huva made it past my filter!

i think you`ll be suprised at how little lsd music LSD dj`s play when they dj.. some are quite eclectic. always sublime and psychedelic. i think the LSD artists are inspired by so many other musical genres too. sometimes its nice to hear other people play your music, rather than always play it yourself... there is so much beautiful music out there ! open your ears & eyes !
