Well mates,

im reading alot about nord lead 2x, before i was reading about JP cause i wanted one for it prices....then the opportunity to buy an used NL2X came, and i was in doubt.

JP 80xx its classic for old school Goa and Trance, cool TB sounds, bubbles, swirlls, fat Saw leads and pads...

but JP8000 is old, i couldnt sell it later if i wanted, is too big an heavy to take to some party, as nord lead is light and small, JP got Filter cutff of and ressonance Slider then Knob....

but the point is, i can achive TB sounds, acid raw Goa lead sounds with NL2X??

im a Goa Trance producer and i would like to make many stuff for my tracks with nord lead2...

what u guys can tell me?           https://soundcloud.com/ancientaliengoa

i think the jp have a roland sound caractere that is more assicoated with goa than nord leads..

in the end it s taste you could use the nord for goa too..we had both i enjoyed both..nord is still there but it don t sound rolandish at all and wont replace the jp

i see JP is more classic GOA, but i could creat differents kind of GOA leads and sounds with the NL that would still be amazing for goa right?           https://soundcloud.com/ancientaliengoa

jp8000 is not rerally classic goa synth it started to sell in 97 just when goa was dying but it have a rolandish caractere , and roland stuff have been abused

well i only played 2 synths in my life, years before starting to produce so i have no notion actually...

i want to nord cause its good for many reasons, its very used by good artists, its cool, beautifull desing, light weight, i can bring to live act and alot of great modulations...

jp8000 is awesome, i would like to have supersaw, but is soo old, and supersaw is overused, i was looking a video few hours ago and NL2 do some coooool Acid tb sounds, not soo good as a TB roland or JP, but good nought, and u can doo many goa sounds on it as i saw.....i will buy it!

Here's what you do, get this slimmed down emulation of the JP and get yourself the hardware Nord synth.

I used to have both, and difference to me is NL2X is cutting through the mix much more better than JP8000 which always need some mixing tricks to deliver.
Sound of those is quite different, but if i could take one of them back, i would choose NL2X nine times over ten

JP is creamier and fatter when NL is very sharp and clean, but not thin, very deep indeed. And somehow just beautiful.           - - - - -

what about voices and polyphony?

tis like sylenth? where u can chose 1-12 voices peer oscillator??

i think there isent it on NL2x, i was reading the manual and what i says that with unison u have 2 voice peer key...

welll many cool tb sounds of sylenth is made with 4 voices, and pads too...

I would not put sylenth and nl in same sentence, regarding the uniqueness.. But ''try before buy'' is a good sentence itself           - - - - -

If you liked Pleiadians - IFO album, know that the Nord Lead 1 was all over the place in there.

All down to taste, I would choose the Lead everyday of the week.

get both. they compliment each other very nicely!
they both can growl but the jp can also be very lush (super saw, anybody?). but you can always spot a nord lead in a mix cause it has a unique crispness no other synth really has.

most of the leads, sounds and fx in this track are out of a nl2 and a jp-8080. guess which is which
