Exactly I don't need drugs to enjoy music. Actually I could say music is my drug !

I'm sure any music would most likely sound more psychedelic/emotional/whatever under the influence of certain substances..
but it's not like there really is a bigger connection between psytrance and drugs than there is between rock music and drugs or whatever

just 2 dayz ago me & my gf went to some very big psytrance party at our country
those who live in my country know whats "Hof HaNitsanim" 
and.. well, i bet at least 80% out of around 10.000 ppl there were stoned.....
believe it or not, but thats how it used to be and thats how it will stay. People do not go to psytrance parties for drinking beer.. they go there to get stoned.
Do you know many psytrance parties, where ppl go to dance, without using any drugs?
I dont know not even 1 such party at our country... perhaps in other countries, but not here
Anyways, i do not use any drugs.. besides that green substance sometimes, but i will say this: Psytrance isnt usual kind of music... one cant compare it to rock or any other style (by means of its influence at stoned mind)
you wont be able to fly that high with listening to other genres, while being on drugs... but i must admit something - i fly on Rammstein's music much much more then on ANY psytrance. So probably.. its all about power and melody and not about some specifical kind of sounds..... you think its metal, its impossible to get high with it?
try it once in that special state of mind... try not to see the flying hamsters right after first 10 seconds of any their track

How can you be so sure? Have you seen them taking any drugs? maybe they just REALLY liked the music

of course there will be, psytrance, beside drugs&shit, is becoming more and more a lifestyle, a way of thinking, moving, acting...
its a fact that psytrance was allways influenced by high consumption of hallucinogens&shit ...
that's definetly what makes this music a drug, which gets you high instantaneously when it get into your ears.

Timmy: well.. sure there're FEW who just really
liked the music, but like..... they are the minority

There should be more parties in the day! Start early in the morning and go to early night! I love the daytime, and on occasions where i have rocked up at a party first thing in the morning i have danced really long and loved the music without any drugs. For me, when i take the drugs it is more like anecessity...like, "ok its 4am and im fuckin exhausted...either i take some drugs, or i go home and sleep and miss the party i been looking foward to for 2 months." |

Brainstorm: and you think that alcohol is ANY better than marijuana? Alcohol makes people more aggressive, less sensitive to their surroundings, and is well known for being one of the more extreme physicaly addictive substances. Marijuana on the other hand makes you calm and open to the outside world, and has a very low addiction potential. I prefer a stoned crowd over a drunk one any time. People don't NEED drugs for anything, and they're deffinately not necessary to enjoy trance music... but they definately give the experience another dimention. But there are people that for them that added dimention is all there is in the music - and that's not the point of it.
But those are the minority. Even among the drug consuming crowd, the majority of people that go to the parties LOVE the music like nothing else. These are no minority, and thinking that they are is a bit of self-glorification, but wrong.
tim: in Israel the parties usually don't pick up until 3:30AM or so (the music usually doesn't start playing before midnight to 1AM, and gets to full volume around 2:00), giving 2 hours before the sunrise for the main part - and the parties usually end around noon. People set up tents, bring provisions for a serious digging (food, loads of water, sunglasses, other accessories) - and I've been to a few raves in both Melbourne and Byron Bay that lasted to around 4PM.
No one's forcing you to get to the party early, you can just wait with it (I usually try and catch some sleep around 9PM to midnight).

Kaz, yeh i know...i usually try and get some sleep around that time too, and believe me i come prepared...food, energy drinks - the works. But still 3 hours sleep is not enough for me to keep going past noon the next day...the need for sleep sux! |

yet.. i do agree that MJ and other drugs makes one to experience new things while listening to trance music
