Hello I was wondering if anyone can help me with this dilema I have on my head jaja
I'm planning to spend about 4000 bucks on a synth an audio interface and a sequencer to make some psytrance.....I want to be very melodic with a deep hard bassline so I'm choosing between a virus ti2 polar or a roland v synth gt.......if any one kan help me I will really apreciate it.....

I have a Virus TI Polar which I barely use. For melodic digital stuff its great, as the onboard arppegiator is nice and easy to use.
Shite filters and oscillators for "raw" leads, but nice for pads and effects.
Can't comment on the V-Synth as I only had a go at it in an audio convention in London years ago. I wasn't impressed.

Peace out.

Thanx man I apreciate your help
So you think I would be able to make some good basslines? Something like system nipel? Ooh and by the way is this virus ti polar capable of doing kick drums psytrance style?

Dunno who system nipel is. There's a lot better sounding (to my ears at least) soft synths for 16th trance saw basslines than the Virus.
Yes you can do kick drums, but then again there are a lot better software drum synths for that task as well.

Peace out.

if I had 4 grand to spend I'd get all 3 Spectrasonics instruments(omnisphere - synth work, trillian - bass, stylusrmx - percussion, a copy of Ableton, an Akai APC40 MIDI controller a decent audio interface and a new set of monitors.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

Alright that's some good advice guys......but I'm still stuck with this idea of buying one of those synths haha stupid huh? But ok u guys have probably heard bizzare contact right? Wut synth do you think could come close to the way his basslines sound? I saw a video on you tube of him electro sun, and bizarre contact had a v synth gt, so do you think he uses that instrument to make those basslines?

You don't need a hardware synth to make basslines. There's plenty of sofware synths that can get you the full-on sound you're looking for: Trilogy/Trillian, CronoX, Scorpion etc etc

As for V-synth GT vs TI, well the TI is more of a workhorse. The total integration feature makes it really easy to work with, you can use 16 sounds at once with individual effects and then you can route those 16 sounds to 3 mixer channels for additional effects.

I haven't used the v-synth GT but Vibe-tribe posted here once recommending it, he said he preferred it over his nord. Infected also use a XT, you can hear it on those vocal stutter effects etc.

So completely different beasts, both equally good in their own right. Since it's your first synth i would recommend the TI as it's more versatile. Hope this helps.           http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic

Don't know about Roland. Neither about the TI

But I have a PowerCore Virus (it's Virus B I guess) and i love it. It's a kind of "every day" synth that works great for most basic sounds. It just sounds good without much try. Me like           http://soundcloud.com/aedem

dude SERIOUSLY. from the questions you're asking, it doesn't seem like you have that much experience producing. DO NOT GET A HARDSYNTH.

take wilsanquil's advice and get a soundcard, monitors, and 3 or 4 incredible softsynths (or whatever you need). it will be SO much more worth it!

when you say things like "what does so and so artist use for their leads/bass?" half the time, the answer is SOFTWARE. i'm all for analog equipment for nasty resonant squelching and the like, but really dude, you can get software that sounds so similar to a virus that it just. isn't. worth. it.

if you have limitless cash, yeah, the virus does sound good right out of the box, and there are tons of cool presets. but holy shit, man, if you are trying to make full-on bass and leads, get a few awesome softsynths before even THINKING about complicating your life with a virus.

I would not spend that much cash on the Virus either, and the "cold" advice of getting soft synths that combined, do everything the Virus does, and far better, is the way to go.
Having said that my first synth was 6Us worth of Doepfer modules!

Peace out.
