Hi there Southern California people! I've just arrived today at Riverside, and will stay here for a month. Since I don't know the area, and even more have no car, I'd be happy if there is anybody who can help me to get to parties. Warning: I'm not one of these hippie types, quite the opposite. I'm an Ivy League graduate who hope to get a PhD in mathematics and then work on Wall Street, my favorite artists are probably Astrix, Infected Mushroom and Son Kite. The only common thing between me and hippies is that I'm also into peace, love harmony etc. though I come with a totally different approach to that. If this description does not scare you, I'll be happy to meet you.

psy_eugene, welcome to LA. I highly recommend getting access to a car while you're here cos I don't know how many people live out where you are, let alone read this forum.
Prepare for parties almost every weekend you're here. and if that's not enough, there's a weekly on wednesday and sunday night. all in LA county though.

ha, riverside...I use to live there....sux
too bad you're not a hippie....there are many dark psy underground parties around southern california (not very far from riverside) almost every weekend that are out in the forest/desert, but there has been no astrix/gms/IM played there since about 2002, just the crazy psychedelic type psytrance at night, with other EDM genres during the day......but I guess there would be too many "hippies" for you. Some hippies, like me, are not into peace and love as much as truth and balance. If you are hatin' on hippie types, you should probably either stick with the clubs, or get busy with your math homework.

All right all right. I wrote the message the way I did because I hoped to get to parties that play Astrix, not "crazy psychedelic" or whatever you call it. You're saying that they are in the clubs? Good to know, thank you!
BTW I LOVE Arsim, not hate them, they are very normal in their own way. Hippies I don't really like, that's true, though I'm glad that they are into peace-harmony-all-the-rest. Dear Hippies: there is nothing to fear of Ivy Leaguers who dream about Wall Street, there are some good people there (me! me!), that are not into destroying the world for their own benefit, the opposite, they just want a world of happy normal people around and not terrorists etc.
Edit: I'm also into truth and balance!!!!!!!!!! Just FYI |

psyDrama: I'm from Israel, and at Cornell I took mainly technical courses, I'm a mathematician, remember?? I'm working on my English though, hope it will eventually improve.
rich: Thank you for the normal reply!!!!!! Unfortunately I don't even have a liscense, I've lived too much time in places where car is not a necessity. I'm working now on getting the permit, then hopefully a liscense. Until then, I'm quite limited........... |

I am also from Israel, and this makes me even more surprised by your rather arrogant generalizations about hippies and other people who make up the scene. Why should we care if you "like" them or not? I am not sure where you developed your excessive use of the word "normal". I find it very odd. I am going to start counting how many times you use it (3 times so far in this thread). By the sound of it so far, I would be very happy to be considered "abnormal" by you. |

I am looking forward to the day your school's start and eventually you have to go back to your studies. Or better yet find a job in Wall Street and be too busy to write here. Till then I might have to stop reading this forum for a while.

Some of my generalizations are taken from a long time of reading the "tapuz" forum, I'm giving them a hard time now, so come check! I use this word so much because only now I'm realizing how abnormal all these people are which makes me want to scream "Normal" all the time. |
