Hope all are safe in Nepal, this is a difficult time. I cancelled my ticket last moment, im thanking god to have gotten lucky with a close call.

We pray for the Nepali people others who must have landed there for the party. Be strong and reach out to your embassies.           "Whoever said the best things in life are free... obviously grew their own bud"

Majority of the people who went towards the new location seem to be safe. An update was posted. But many are still missing, with friends and family desperately trying to get updates via social media as phone lines are down/congested.

Our prayers are with all in Nepal, hope things get better. Hang in there and wait for rescue efforts.           "Whoever said the best things in life are free... obviously grew their own bud"

We are very sorry for the late reply, we have been in an immense crisis which we have never faced before. We are sure all of you are very well aware of the events that have unfolded in the past few days putting our entire crew , their families and largely our entire country in a situation never imagined before.

Also most of you are aware our Organization & Festival (Universal Religion) has been successfully hosting big and small events for last 8 years & we have very well delivered very high scale events in past years.

As of this edition Inspite of having all the required licenses and permission since months for this April 2015 edition sadly when we were through with 70% of our production plan with just 2 days before the festival. Pointing & raising questions very specifically towards putting the culture and heritage of the country Nepal under a bad name by promoting a music festival which promotes not just Music but mainly Drugs , Sex & Nudity against the culture of the country the highest authorities inspite of granting all the permission before asked us to cancel the event and decided to not give our entire crew, participants & event any security for the festival. Further pointing at some other recent events/festivals/parties illegally organized by other groups without taking any required permissions and organizing on a very bad unprofessional scale, stamped our festival nothing different then the other such events and gathering which werethoroughly exploited by the local media and following which the authorities had to face the hammering of the media , locals as well the other concerned legal agencies.

Following all the above unexpected last moment issue involving safety of the crew and participants we were forced to cancel the main event which we announce on Wednesday 22 April 2015. Following to which numerous requests started pouring in by mails , messages , calls and people personally coming down to our meeting points and requesting to make atleast a smaller event for all those who were already in Nepal and really not wanting refunds but wanting to hear all the Artist and Djs most of which had already arrived in Nepal and for who participants had specially flown in from various parts of the worlds.

After many considerations and numerous requests just within 24 hours we worked out a new permissions & venue for a music concert under a new name and identity entirely different then Universal Religion but having almost the same line up and production plan a bit smaller but of the same standards as the actual festivals for the new location & event being near Hatiban Resort.

With very little time our team worked day and night to set up this new location outside Hatiban resort at just 12 kms outskirts of Kathmandu City and almost finishing the entire set up within 18 -20 hours starting from 4 pm on 24 April targeting to start the new 2 nights 3 days event on 25 April 1 pm However, just before the event while we were in process of finishing the sound and lights checks around 12:15 pm Saturday 25 April 2015 as you all are aware Nepal was hit by a big earth quake of magnitude 7.9 followed by one more smaller of 6.9 magnitude&many after shocks which are still going on till date.

As soon as the quake happened all of our local staff and crew started panicking and fearing for loss of their life , family & personal belongings. They started leaving one by one for their village or to the city to check on their family & friends leaving us only with barely 20 people out of our original staff of 80+ people. Inspite of all the stress& fear of taking responsibility for so many Non Locals &Foreigners we dint close the festival gate and let each and every person walk into the venue even without any security check being performed and letting each and every one walk in with food, water , all personal belongings and their friends who had not bought any presales , rooms or even tents

Within few hours from the first Tremors we had about 700-800 guests at the venue by the same evening. The 70 safari camping tents each with capacity of 6-8 people were made available for all the people who had even not paid for the tent or even entry for that matter were allowed to camp freely & use these tents along with other basic facilities like water , toilets , showers and so on at the adjacent private Hatiban resort which was originally just for the guest who had booked rooms.

In some way or otherwe took care of these people by not abandoning them or asking to empty the private resort or the government forest land which was hired and paid by us for 3 nights. With very limitedcrew & resources we had available we provided everyone with shelter, water , food, security & basic needs. I am sure all of you who were there for those 3 nights will understand how we all helped each other and lived like one real family & most importantly how safe and far away we were all from the sad and bitter reality that had hit the millions making them food & shelterless in all parts of Nepal.

Inspite of many logistical constraints we made sure to provide electricity during nights by running the entire resort and festival area on fuel runned generators and also arranged free busses for people on next days for all those who wanted to go to airport or city.

All these people would surely be facing much worst situation & bitter reality if denied entry by us or abandoned by us.

The earthquake toll was quite heavy for our organization & caused injury & also took lives of some family members of our crew. Destroyed their homes in the villages. Main core Universal Religion team being locals from Nepal having their parents , wives, kids and immediate family stuck in the city homeless on streets without basic needed things could easily abandon the festival participants and could select to go serve their people and be with their family. But they all decided and selected to stand by all the Artist, Djs , Décor , Visual and moreover the Festival Attendees & Entire Crew considering them as their own family.

Since our team spend almost twice the production cost, paid all the transportations, Artist, Dj& Crew fees & has cleared most of the liabilities in advance, we are not in a position now to do any refund for the presale entrance tickets. If not for the earthquake on your requests we had surely put the new event up all togetherin terms of productions and programming and all of you who were there must have seen the entire set up being ready.

We are now working full time to help the people in need around the country in every possible way. Our team has been assisting people with food, shelter & in setting up medical camps in different locations. We are not looking to make any monetary profit from the event & are going to spend every saved penny towards affected people of Nepal.

Also very importantly we would like to mention that the original festival venue which was in Kakani International Scout Training Centre falling in the Nuwakot District of Nepal was badly damaged by landslides triggered by the Earth Quake and After Shocks. The access road to venue and the villages were badly damages and were cleared days after the incident. So most importantly we are firm believers of the wise words that it all Happens for the Reason & It all happens for Good. Had the festival happened at the Original Venue we would all be facing more tougher situations and the losses could be much more than just in terms of loss of efforts , time and financial losses.

So We hope & expect that on humanitarian ground& considering all the sincere hardwork & transparency all of us has put forward you are going to support us in these much hard times which each and every one of us is facing by not demanding a refund for the presale entry tickets purchase.

With very limited access and time to reply each and every mail personally this is our final official update regarding the things that happened and our decision regarding presale entry refunds.

Thank you for your kind patience & understanding.

Team,

Universal Religion

Anybody here been to Nepal in December? Is it the wrong time to go considering how cold it might be? I am thinking of visiting Nepal/ Bhutan around this time.           Nothing is said that has not been said before.
