Los Angeles session musician Irwin's Conspiracy has created music for many films like 'Get Shorty', and 'So I Married An Axe Murderer'. Compilation features David Last, who has received intense worldwide acclaim, impressing tastemakers like Mixmaster Morris who brought him to perform at the Big Chill Festival. Nalepa is also the owner of Dilletante Press, a publishing company specializing in outsider art and coffee table art books.
Compilation is cutting edge and stretches the concept of ambient and downtempo music.Many of the artists on the compilation have been featured on the Ambient Alchemy Tour, a multiple country tour of downtempo and chill-out music through North America and Europe.

‘Beneath the Surface’ is an exploration of that which lies just below the threshold of consciousness, where subject and object lose their distinction, and the definitions of the commonplace lose their validity.
‘Beneath the Surface’ weaves its way into the listener’s experience through deep ambient landscapes, crystalline digital beat structures, and lyrical organic melodies over the course of 13 tracks.
This compilation represent a foray into deeper and more delicate ambient structures. Atmospheres are allowed to evolve, textures wind quietly through the background, and inteligent electronics establish icey and foreign structures for your imagination to inhabit. |

Well, thanx for CD Evan. IMO this compilation is without a shadow of a doubt the most innovative and exploratory at the moment. Loads of new solutions in sounds and arrangements, the whole concept is a breath of fresh air for all the forward-thinking chillers out there. Excellent!
