Our new compilation, Clarity, has been released and is getting some fantastic feedback… Would love to get some feedback also from isratrance members!
Almost impossible to give the album a purely objective review, as I helped compile it and obviously think it’s totally wicked, but I’m going to anyway…!

The album consists of 9 tracks…

1. Logic Bomb - ‘Joddel’
This track was written a while ago and we were always surprised it never got released. It’s a perfect album opener; quite gentle paced, cheeky, funky track with trademark logic bomb sounds. I think it’s brilliant..

2. Commercial Hippies – ‘Where dreams come from’
This is one of the tracks I am most excited about on the album. It’s written by Dj Chesh (who’s one of my partners in Nano Records and also half of Hydrophonic) and newcomer Anton Raubenheimer (who also writes as Cyan). Chesh’s production is getting really tight, something that’s reflected also in Hydrophonic’s music. This track is killer. Great spirit, detailed percussion, wicked samples and purely belter!

3. Rinkadink – Ultima (Protoculture remix)
Bit of a Nano anthem over the last year, this one. Rinkadink’s original version featured on our first release, ‘Emergence’ and is a classic. This remix improves on the original and is one of the most beautiful, uplifting morning tracks around.

4. Cyan – Electro Texture
Cyan is another exciting new talent to come out of Cape Town. This track is great for those moments when you need to pull the energy back on the dancefloor, but keep the feet moving and the smiles floating, if you know what I mean. Lush synths, funked up bass and acid lines, tight production. This is a talent to keep an eye out for..

5. Vatos Locos – Four Twenty (Earthling Remix)
Shane Gobi from Alchemy licensed this to us – Thanks geez! I love this and am really excited to have Vatos Locos and Earthling, awesome psychedelic talents, attached to the label. Deep, throbbing, humoured, almost housey, psy trance with the fattest lead section halfway. Brilliant!

6. Tristan v The Electric Ant – Six Straight Days
What can I say about this? Best track in the universe!? Really can’t review this objectively.. Total pleasure to work with Tristan; he’s a fantastic geezer, has a very excellent approach to making music and has got some wicked analogue gear. I’m delighted with the track. Solid building, big dance floor tune with some excellently psychedelic sounds. Great to hear after a drop or two…!

7. Hydrophonic – Ones and Zeros
Hydrophonic are getting better and better. With bookings coming in all over the world for their funk fuelled live sets, they are becoming a very exciting talent. This track is a top dancefloor track. It’s full of optimism, great percussion and a break that will kick any party into gear.. Wicked!

8. Protoculture – High Orbit
At last the man defluffs! Much more full on and psychedelic than his previous stuff and a track that shows his dynamism. Searing builds, great leads and typically tight production. I’m very excited about this tune and it causes mayhem on the dancefloor… Killerrrr…

9. Triptych – Cold
Another track that we licensed, this time from Turbo Trance records. A really nice tune that ends the album with exactly the vibe that we wanted. Triptych is without doubt a very exciting new talent to come out of France and this tune’s got a lovely fat bassline that builds up to a great smile inducing synth section. One for the girls on a sunny day!

The album comes in CD extra format, with a flash movie that autoruns when you put the CD in a PC or Mac. Through a link on this you can gain access to a tenth track, a streaming DJ mix, free samples, video, other multimedia and maybe competitions. We are going to make this a regular feature of all our releases…

Anyway, I think the album has got 9 fantastic tracks on it, with quite a cross section of vibes, though all with a common denominator that is psychedelic, optimistic, clear and of the highest quality. It’s great journey as a whole too…

Look forward to reading some responses...

Nectarios. Thanks for the big positives about Six Straight Days... It's a belter for sure! I can't remember the names of some of the equipment we used - A mad modular synth which you got trapped in, especially after a few fatties and also a wicked hardware filter that created havoc with the signal. The Waldorf Pulse and a JP8000 were used alot too. No Prophet though... Glad you like it, especially seeing as you didn't really like much else.. Thank god though, we all have different tastes!

Just got this and Nectarios, yuor taste is too critical man! This is the bomb. I went to Samothraki and had one of those magic losing moments to a track and had to find out what it was and noone I knew knew... I think Tristan played it. And it's on this CD and it's the Com Hippies tune. Brilliant.
I love it love it love it
As for the rest of the CD? I've been jumping around my bedroom with my man like a spastic I'm going back to SA as soon as I can!

And, Ans, I saw you at Glastonbury.. You are a fucking star! That was too short a set, but, man, I danced like a nutter. Tristan played afterwards and was excellent, but wasn't a touch on that... Protoculture was top as well... Thanks thanks thanks!

Agh! I get paid in 2 days, then I will order the CD.

The samples from the Nano website sounded wonderful. Expecially the much-hyped Tristan & Electric Ant track. Can't wait to hear the full songs!

Haven't heard this yet, but have big expectations. Nano is for me one of the most interesting labels at the moment - especially after the awesome debut with "Emergence".

Nice feature with the extra stuff btw.

Great, thanks for the positivity.

Elvenlights... I like you! Thanks. The Glade was top class this year at Glastonbury...

Entheogen... Nice one.. The mix of Ultima that went onto Emergence is the original mix really. It was co written by Rinkadink and Spencer Scott (a partner in Alchemy). It was called the 'flamin hoons' mix to show that, if you follow...

excellent compilation !!!
well done nano team , i think this one is far better than emergence! softer and less agressive
i like all the tracks except 5 and 8
the hilights for me are logic bomb ( amazing melody ), commercial hippies(i really like their groove, i didn't know them before but know i'll keep an eye on them ) , the rinkadink rmx is really beautiful , cyan( didn't know him either, but damn it , i love this kick bass )
i also like tristan , triptych tracks , charle's track is very very personnal and it's great to end the compilation
hydrophonic 's is nice but too bad the production quality is a bit low .. anyway good ideas and melodies, another project to watch after

respect to nano
