I hate to burst yer bubble, but much of psytrance today isn't that much more abstract, mind-boggling or complex than pop music. Compared to 5 years ago, half of what I hear at parties is pretty damn poppy. Electronic music has heavily influenced pop over the last few years, but it has gone the other way as well - I hear a lot more pop influences in psytrance than ever before.
And contrary to popular belief, you don't need a high intellect or more high-tech mind to appreciate psy - seriously. It just has to be your particular flavor. I've heard many people intelligently analyze pop music, whereas the common response to psy music is "that track is so killlller!!!!"
I'm not saying it's bad music, just not especially "hard to get".
