Hi, there!
I'm from Russia and I have never been in Israel. Large quantities of Israel trance-projects make me think that trance in your country is the most popular kind of music. Is it so or it is just my illusion? And also I want to know if you don't mind some more about Israel music scene at all.
Thanks a lot.

No it's not the most popular one, although it is very popular and just about everyone here knows about this style of music.

Im orignily from Israel and allot of
people still think trance is house or club,
allot of people are more into house music
(which I dont like) but the Israeli trancers
are the best trancers in the world... The best
parties and the best atmoshphere...

Well, we do have a HUGE scene when it comes to trance, i dont believe that theres another country who has so much trance parties in one weekend!
It is not the MOST popular kind of music, but it surely is one of the biggest....
Lets just say, that all those that dont live trance in there bones, cant really tell the difference between psy, progressive, club house, or what ever, but the true trancer are really beautiful ppl! (of course, it's all a matter of taste...) As in every scene, in trance there areppl who dont come to parties to enjoy the music, but to get high/drunk as hell, and spoil the party for other ppl, and thats a shame, cause it wasn't always like that....
To sum it all up, i do think that we have one of the most tranced country in the world.... We may not have good locations for huge raves, but when there done, they go with full power!!!

And, of course, we have the most smiley, friendly ppl you will ever meet at a party!!!

Rave on!!!

Just one question?

Wouldn't it be nicer to have quality over quantity?

I have been to Israel many many times (even lived there for a while) and what struck me was that yes there's tons of parties but mostly the parties lack great decoration, sound ect... It's like all have to do a party as fast as possible without planning it properly (not all of course). And the line up is a chapter on itself... Why not try to variate it more? It's the same over and over again

But Israel do have a beautiful nature, especially the desert, but so have Greece, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Scandinavia, South America, Asia, Australia ect. They all have something unique I just dont see or agree that Israel is as the no. 1 one "trance country" when it come to selection of artists, decoration and sound quality. Maybe some of the people in this nice forum should try to go to other countries to experience it for themselves. When you haven't traveled you can't compare it and tend to think that your country is the best

In my opinion there are other countries that do it much better when it come to interesting artists and creative party organising

EP.. u're right of course. today - I don't think there was a good planned party i've been to in 2 years - but I guess it's because of financial probs.

even though I don't need great sound - I do want to see great deco and good music to be played.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

I honestly dont think it's the financial situation that are the key factor. In my opinion it's people's idea that you need to have quantity over quality every weekend.

If the organisers dared to cut down on the number of Dj's and "live" act's and dared to try new crative ways I am 100% sure people would see it as an improvement instead of a setback. Of course you have the situation with the Police but so do other countries like Sweden (just as bad as Israel if not worse - they even have a gouverment funded rave comission that hit down hard on organisers). Yet they are very creative and throw amazing outdoor parties deep inside the dark forests of Sweden Israel could learn a lot from the Swedish organisers. But of course if you want a party every week in every corner of Israel then it will never change.

And for me a party will never be good without a clear nice sound quality. There shouln't be any compromising on sound just as deco and artists

Yeah, you're right... Without knowing of whatever else we can't properly compare somthing . But when I created this topic I wanted to ask about music not about parties. If I want to feel the partylife in different contries I naturally need to go there and taste it myself. The party is the party and you can't imagine its atmosphere without participating.

What music is popular in Israel but trance? That was a part of question?

Yes , maybe you are all right, but there is something about this topic...
Althoug the partys in many countrys are getting quite distant from the begining of the new movement, there are some countrys like israel that have a specific tendency for very particular styles inside trance. Like England and the rock a few years back, Israel is kind of sticking to the original thing.
Why Israel?
What makes this happen?
Where is the reason ? Is it history or what?
Never been to Israel, maybe if u leave there it is better to understan. Can anibody Help with the questions?
BOOOM in several tongues

WOW i cant belive it but...EP i agree 100%, it is very hard to find a party with a variation in the line up....the deco is not very good...i do think many times the sound is decent(esp' outdoor) i went to parties in Holland,England,Australia the USA and ofcourse Thailand and India like every other Israeli and Israel is only above India and Thailand from this list as far as the Production.
this summer i hope to be in Denmark/Sweden and get a chance to go to some real Minimal/Prog' parties cant wait...
cheers.

EP, i think u got me a bit wrong...
i was talking about about the amount of parties, which is realy big, as to the quality, i totaly agree with u! Organizers think that if they bring a blasting line up, they can just sit back and collect there check, without even carring that the location is probably the dirtiest place on earth (it is a bit exaggeratting, but u get the point).
In other countries u defently can see much more submerging at the location itself, to make it "friendlier" for the ravers, and that is something that Israeli party organizers should assimilate.

Now that i think about it, i can even say that Israeli ravers are a bit spoiled... u wont see no outdoor parties during the winter time, where in other countries ppl just dont care much for the weather.... We do have a realy big trance scene, as i already said, too bad that its not as good in preparation as in size....

I agree with you EP, the production level of probably 99% of the parties in Israel doesn't scratch the most amaturish producers abroad. Deco is practically non-existant (I dont consider hanging a couple of backdrops and a few ultraglow threads a deco), Sound quality usualy sux (and tend to crash regularily), no backstage whatsoever (something that makes it very hard for the performers to organize themselves for the gig), no alternative music (chill areas for instance) and so on.
However, Israel have impacted the world with pure publicity of the trance culture. The sheer size of the scene is unknown and uncomparable to any other place in the world, specialy when comparing it to the general population in Israel. I think its our way of doing things 'on the fly' that creates this look and feel of a party. It's also the way we do other stuff, with our 'thing will work out in the end' or 'trust me...' ("yihie beseder..." and "smoch alay") that characterizes us as a nation.
