Ive been a trance guy just before the turn of the century. Although I still love the stuff its no where near as good as it was back then. Got into DnB and breaks (hard stuff!) aswell but resently GOA and PSY.

GOA seems a hard one to find so Ive only picked up some old compilations but I love it. I just found "Filteria - Heliopolis" today and for new age GOA thats pretty sweet, something Ill get for sure.

As for PSY Ive been introduced to a few things "Melicia - Play with my Mind", "Pitch Hikers - Twilightzone" & "Vibe Tribe - Wise Cracks". You may diss my tastes but because of my background I love the uplifting, euphoric PSY, its great. Ive got "Space Buddha - Full Circle: & "MFG - Message from God" coming along soon and plan to get "ALT CTRL - Vision Quest" & "Protoculture - Circadians".

Question is, since Im still very new to this, could anyone point out some more of what maybe my taste for the 2006 CD releases? Im interested in trying more harder stuff aswell like Pitch Hikers.

My favourite song though is "Vibe Tribe - Albert Balbert". Is that considered cheese when it comes to PSY trance?

Correct term for the style I like is Full On?

Hope this is OK to ask here, I did search! Thanks for any help and this great board. Cheers!

Title of thread reads: 'Moving from Club Trance to Psy trance'. But you ask of more "delightful" uplifting, euphoric PSY. Yes, I would say that your quest is to get Full-on, and not psy-trance (oh the terms, the terms =P) Ergo, your topic should be, moving from psy-trance/Goa to Club-trance (Full-on is made for the clubs and big arenas). Hey, have you ever heard Infected Mushroom - Classical Mushroom? Now thats good psy-trance. Also if you really like Vibe Tribe ect, I would suggest that you check out Infected Mushroom’s new album named 'IM The Supervisor'. I don't recall hearing Vibe Tribe - Albert Balbert, but I'm sure it's considered cheese among many. But not all cheese is bad. We need some cheese in life, ja? NextWorlsd recommendations are good btw. Want a nice dose of twisted psychedelic Full-On? What about checking out this release: http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/101154/forum/9

My absolute fav full-on (since we're talking terms) is Psysex. Maybe not so mdma oriented, but..

This is psychedelic techno at it's best! Darkpsy? Forest psy is a better term. If you find Ka-Sol to be interesting, you might want to take a peek into Psykovsky's debut album, Derango – Tumult, Zolod - Deja Vu Fabrique ect. Maybe not your euphoric ride of life. But it will give you something much better, a psychedelic experience. Welcome to psy-trance, try to keep the taste real.

I think the last thing a club trance refugee needs is dark psy. I'd advise to check ticon, antix, reefer decree, perfect stranger and on the full on side electric universe, space tribe, prometheus hmmm           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

I was into "club trance" until last year. After listening to psy, going to a couple of psy parties, getting too much of the cheesy vibes at one club trance party, getting real tired of the boring non-trance Sander van Doorn sound and hearing what old (early 90s) trance was like (mystic and spacy rather than over appealing to emotion), I just haven't been that interested in nowadays club trance any more.

Some albums I'd recommend:
VA - Twist Dreams
Ibojima - Morning Glory
Ocelot - Dream Selector
VA - Funland Boogie Files
VA - The well of enchanted sounds
Ka-Sol - Fairytale

And if you're interested in old trance:
VA - Tranceformed from beyond (1992)
VA - X-Mix 1 (1993)

The last two Wizzy Noise albums (Sabotage Pt. I & II), Prosper - When The City Sleeps, and some Nano Records compilations (Streamline, etc.) should do you well...

Thanks crew, gave me a good platform to start on.

Chill/Ambient PSY. Is there much good stuff there? I heard the tracks "Ultravoice - Children Of Earth (Ambient Version) & "Hydraglyph - Shade". They are pretty nice stuff. Still retains a beat but isnt as fast paced or hectic.

Ill be placing a reasonably sized order of CDs next week. Got to stop spending so much but Ill grab a bunch and go with that for awhile.

I can second for what Basilisk said, and same with Pavel..

stay away from the dark stuff because after the first 2 minutes you will start asking yourself how people from a forum titled "Isratrance" referred you towards something in the total opposite corner. (no offence to the dark lovers, but as pavel said, this guy came from tiesto's world) !!           www.jesterrecords.ca

For some excellent chillout check out the releases under the Ultimae label, especially Carbon Based Lifeforms, Aes Dana and Solar Fields have some great albums. If you're into chillout, all cd's from Ultimae are great really Just browse around on several sites like www.psyshop.com and www.saikosounds.com and listen to samples etc. Really dig yourself into the music and develop your own tastes, that's what's most important. Labels like Iboga, Digital Structures, Avalanche, Blue Tunes, Spin Twist and Tribal Vision (and more I forgot to mention) have some excellent more progressive styled albums on offer which would be right up your street if you come from more clubby levels. Once more: explore the scene yourself and make up your own faves           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."
