you know, taking a brief look in most of the threads in this section I see that the people here concentrate on quite narrow line of artists. These names (Shpongle, Shulman, Entheogenic etc') are almost the only ones to appear (specially in your threads, Traveller), and it really looks like a very narrow angle, when this section should have been the widest (comparing to trance, which is REALLY limited).

Seeing the same bands over and over again, as if they are the only ones making 'chillout' music (although I wouldn't call Shpongle chillout - too psy and beside the ingeniousity, quite irritating).
More so, I'm sure you have most of the relating music already, so why posting this? another useless 'who's listening to the highest quality music' competition?

And personally for you, Traveller - everybody knows you like Shpongle and the rest of the artists you keep mentioning. I also know that your musical taste is exuisite (yes, it is a compliment...) - why not widen the view of this section and bring forth new names (not necesarily new, only 'previously not mentioned' names)? I mean, Shpongle have their nieche, and they are (you said it, not me) 'The Kings' - so why go looking for something similar? some immitation of the same style?

sadly my comment is still actual (also in the main trance section...).

loved the commentary on Hoax, though!

PhuturePrimitve - SubConscious is a MONSTER HIT.
it's on Waveform records, and finally at Psyshop.

If only Tales of the Inexpressable was quite as good as this CD!

I heard that the first Taruna was good, but I have Taruna II is and it's nothing special.

I'm inclined to agree here, although after a few hundred listens (!) I do feel that Phutureprimitive is a tad too dark sometimes. Shpongle is perhaps more varied and daring, but I won't go too Off topic

As for as Ozrics stuff goes, the track Strangeitude really has that Shpongled feeling; it opens up the mind into all sorts of colourful places.

The Alex Grey track on Chilling Goddess is very reminiscent of Shpongle, his voice almost sounds like Terrence..

And some Bluetech sure sounds like Shpongle to me, I think Evan touches on moments of shere genius with his musical compositions.

Androcell is another name that has some real Posford touches, hallucinating images throughout his music

And only a few weeks to go before we have 'Nothing Lasts' ... (I'll believe it when I see it !!!!!!!!!)            - - It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice... - -

oops, i'm sorry, i didn't mean to offend anyone by pulling this thread out of the depths of the archive. i just got flying high the other week and have been enjoying it so much. and i *searched* for it because it seems that often people bring something up and then everyone pounces and says "search!!" so i wanted to avoid that and just picked up on this as blurp had previously mentioned it.
