Kaz labels are different than booking managers.

I know many artists (especially new ones) that are willing to release music on big labels such as TIP World or Solstice Music lets say for example, and dont care at all if they get money from these labels or not cause all that they want to achieve is big exposure from these big labels and make a name for themselves           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

And if labels such as TIP and Solstice agree to do that then they are no better than thiefs! No matter if you are a new or established artist the labels have to pay the artist acording to sales... If they refuse to pay or speculate in new "naive" artist then the labels should be blacklisted!
Sadly these days more and more labels use and exploid artists instead of working together with the artists!

EP i am not saying that the big labels wont pay new artists their money,i am saying that new artists are willing to give their tracks to big labels for a deal of no money at all just to promote their name through the label.

If an artist wants to promote his name and is willing to release his music for free then thats fine about me actually           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

I dont agree mate.... even if the artist is willing to release the tracks for free the labels should be fair enough and tell the artist that they will release the music but on normal terms.... That mean payment to the artist! If not it's still exploitation of the artist.... just because the artist is so eager to get out there does not mean that the label should not pay royalties!

Dont forget that the labels till make money each time the CD sell.

EP if i offer you something for free then why the heck would you ever pay me money?

Artists offer the music and the big labels offer the publicity, its not easy to release on very big labels like you know.

I dont aggree that on this case labels exploit the artists, its the artists after all that accept to release their music for free in exchange of publicity

Anyway i guess we just share different point of views on this matter           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

But the labels make money from the music mate

And if they make money from the sale they should pay the artists no matter if the artist said he/she would release it for free. And I seriously doubt that any new artist would say no to the money in the end Dont forget that a label is not doing an artist a favour... Without the music there wouldn't be any labels!

The reason why some new artist offer their music for free is so they can be exposed fast in the scene.. If their music is good (a lot isen't) then they should be paid for their music!

sadly some labels (even the established ones) see this as an opportunity to release some music fast and keep all the money for themselves.... I still call it stealing and explotation of young naive artists!

And last... The publicity aka promotion is a part of releasing an artist and not some extra favour from the label's side..... mate we wont agree on this and I doubt you'll find many established artists that think it's ok!

A friend of mine in india does everything - from promoting parties to promoting DJs to clubs etc. You could simply be a generic promoter for everything in the scene - where one day you could promote a DJ to a specific club while another day promote a party to a scene... But money making is still hard - the best thing to do is to study sound engineering and become a producer for hip hop music - then try to creep a little bit of psy trance in all your hip hop CDs. Once you have managed that - you should easily be able to convert all hip hop listeners to psy trance after which u and every one else in the scene will make alot of money - youll have all the bling you can desire acompanied by bitches and hoes

Be smart about it.

Learn to make music, but make trance for the love and use your musical skills to make hip hop, or R&B, or some other trendy "pop" music for financial support.

it could be better to be a generic party promoter...good money in it.....at the same time, u can do psy parties also....just make enough money and experience doing parties and then throw psyparties and even if u don't make money in these, it shouldn't hurt much, right?
