For about half a year I'm listening to this music.
I probably have some of everything, but it really bothers me, that I don't even know what I'm exactly listening to:-)

I used to listen to progressive trance, but now I very much like anything which sounds anywhere from progressive trance to fast crazy Psymusic.

Could someone maybe tell me a little more what the different substyles of psy are?

One more thing: last week at Sonica I heard part of Bamboo forest's set and I liked what he played soooo much.
It was very fast, about 145 bpm, and the bassline was very central in his set, hard fast pumping basslines with not too much crazy lead melodies.

What style would that have been:-) ?

It's the feeling.

Morning often with melodies - lighter music - almost all old Goa = morning/cosmic.
Full-On began as a more straight forward BPM music with psychedelic influences (A good genre at it’s start created by Israeliens).
The “psy” in full-on is minimum these days since it has evolved into it's own genre of different reasons.
Full-on today can be compared to a ultra modern version of Euro-Trance - Full-On = Dinner
Dark/night is the darker realms of the psychedelic trance music. best viewed at night and/or in a forest.

morning
dinner
night

So what about Tech, Prog, Free-style, Suomi .. . .. . ?

Full-on? Psytrance? I miss the days when it was one box, Psy/Goa-trance.

For fuck's sake, another one who doesn't have the guts to explore himself. What's the matter? Never got around to reading internet for dummies? Use google, use the online shops like psyshop, saikosounds, chaosunlimited etc. etc. to listen to samples, find out what you enjoy YOURSELF!! You don't need people to tell you what to enjoy. Haven't you got taste of your own???           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

Perhaps we should also include the stereotypes ? Just to add a new dimension to what is what.

Full On = Super commercial music, noone cares for it, just made for making money.

Dark = Untalented noise, just made by people who dont know how to make full on and have to settle for noise.

Progressive = The same as full on, only made by people with poor nerves, therefore a much lower intensity.

Morning = Music played when its morning, nobody really can aggree on what it is. It really depends on whether you like commercial for the money music, or you dig the talentless music instead. Perhaps you have bad nerves in the morning, then you go progressive.

More stereotypes ?

Btw - Psytones nailed it with his last post

Maybe I can relate to you:

Dude, whether something is dark, morning, trauma, full-on, or ultra-israeli-super-pop-go-go psy, that should not matter to you.

I started listening to psy at the end of 2002. I got myself into it by listening to some free mp3s of astral projection on MP3.com. To me it was trance. Whether it was euro, club, or psy didnt matter to me. I loved astral to death, and I decided to read more about them. It was then that I learned that I was listening to goa. It was from then on that I discovered more and more on my own. I didn't discover that isratrance existed until the summer of 2003. And even still, I never asked people here what full on or what dark was.

Like someone else stated, you should look around, read, listen to the music, and discover the answers to these questions yourself. At least in the end you can decide what you really enjoy instead of getting an opinion from someone who states "Isareli full-on sucks cuz it's commerical. Listen to Kindzadza. That's where the sound is at."

Krell:

That's pretty funny, LOL.

Good luck bro.
