you always get something back when you share...

it is very questionable...           Spiritual guides are to practice and serve in ways that cultivate awareness, empathy, and wisdom.

second, i dun think havin 2 many artistes is a problem...u can have many at the bottom of the pyramid,,,but only few will make it to the top...

@ Magox

It dosen`t have to be GMS/Skazi/IM, it can be Kidzadza, Ticon, X-Dream. Btw, I really don`t have any friends that want to produce music, well not electronic music to be correct. I`m not saying we should stop people from creating music. If you want to create, than you should. You should express yourself.

But my post should be viewed in whole. It`s okay if someone makes music for fun, even if it is usually low quality, but this kind of music should not be released then. I say blame the labels because, they release low quality music. They should be the quality controllers. But for their own reasons they decide to release it, because they will have commercial success (cd sales, bookings and so on). I say blame most of the consumers because they don`t stop to think twice what kind of music they listen to. They just eat up what is served to them.

@ brasirc

Okay, so now I`m gonna burp and fart in the microphone, add some percussion, and filter my voice on top of that and say that what I made is art. Those sounds are music for me, they represent the emotions of my stomach when I had beens for lunch.

You see, everybody can create something and call it art, but the fact is that what I did is still crap. The problem is quality control. Low quality stuff should remain deep
underground. You talk about poems. Okay write loads of poems for you girlfriend, and they would probably mean the world to her. But try taking them to a publisher. Would he publish them in a book? Unlikely. You can post it on the internet, and you will probably get some praise from a few people. The problem is that
crap is released AND PEOPLE GET SOME KIND OF MATERIAL PROFIT FROM IT!!! Which give them confidence to continue doing it.

And I still wouldn`t complain that low quality stuff was released, if it didn`t make the majority of all the released music. And please don`t use the the phrase: maybe it`s bad quality for your taste, but for others it isn`t. There is line under or over which taste dosen`t matter. You can hate it or love it, but the fact remains that it is still good quality or not.           SPQR

thats deffinitly some good FX music right there =P

lol..anyway...
lets consider a quick home made video...im looking forward to recording a sailing trip im about to make...i asked a few pro camera pplz...the best (and most often) recomendation they gave me was to buy one of those old old school cameras, like 30 bucks off ebay, thats gives somewhat a shitty image, but it would give the movie somewhat a cool look... the quality would be crap, indeed, but if the idea is going thru....and is a interestingly enough idea, it will reach people, and the quality will be put aside...

and about quality....it is such a floating term...a few years passes by and new technologies come by, old school suddently becomes "bad quality", since they aint adapted to today`s "quality standarts"...its so obvious, old trance....you can easily say that the sound quality is crap...but is the material really that bad?? the mastering aint what you would call nowadays "pro", but the emotions are there....you listen to it, you get the same cozy feeling inside of you....

in the end..it TRULLY comes down to taste, and taste only....if you dont like, someone out there will appreciate it, and if they are appreciating it, the labels are making their little share of money, and the artist is making their share of money....great...everyone`s happy...

this is like that person, which i belive everyone here knows one, that listens to one genre only, and NO OTHER genre at all... if he considers all the rest crap.... he just gotta stick to what he likes, and only what he likes, leave the other 95% of music please the rest of the world, you can say that his "quality standart" is a really picky one.....or maybe hes just full of crap...right?

Well, the way i see it is, i think it's a great thing that more people are making music. I don't disagree that the talent on an average person to person basis maybe lower quality today than what it was before, but i think it's awesome that technology has allowed us to be able to create music in our home on our own pc.'s (in many cases their parents pc's ) .... I think it's a good thing.
Many people thought that they never had the capability of creating an attractive sound, and may have never even tried making music if they didn't feel inspired by someone who made kick ass music on their own pc. Inspiration is a good thing, and if someone feels inspired enough to learn a music program and try to create music with it, then i can only see that as positive.
A lot of people will tell you many times in your life that you can't do this or that you can't do that, because of this and because of that. Whoever listens to this has all ready given up on themselves and their dreams. That's what dreaming is about, reaching for the stars, going after something out of the ordinary, and the only way you will be able to get it is by just doing it.

Inspired by what Magox said I wanted to hear what people think about this. Is it really good to have so much artists these days. Dose more, mean more quality?

IMHO: More and more people make music, and we get less and less quality. Half of these newly born artist would not able to tweak a single sound with the production gear if they would have created during the 1990s, even if they wanted to. Most of them are just computer programmers that learned a few trick. Now days every wanker can sit in front of a computer and with some patience, learn a few things, and create something that he calls music. Also a lot of them don`t even have the basic theoretical knowledge of music in the first place. And we have to consider them as musicians? C`mon. It takes so much more to be a musican... I agree that inspiration is good, but this easy access production techniques make every bugger think he can be the next GMS/Skazi/IM, and thus we get horrific results. I agree that a flower can grow out of a pile of shit,
but sometimes the stinks is so bad that you can`t concentrate on flower.

But I say blame the labels for accepting and releasing this kind of music, and the consumers for buying, going to parties, demanding more and demanding this kind of music.
