Record labels, artists please can we have more complete tracks on your releases !
Nothing in this world annoys me more than ambient or chill out albums that have that half arsed pseudo mixing - tracks just merging into one another style, quite often the tracks are desperately chucked together in a collision course with no regard for pitch or tempo the end result being that it makes the tune very hard to mix with. Take note from the good labels Dakini and chillcode who always have complete tracks. Most people buying your releases are dj's (even if they are only bedroom DJ's) work with us.

mmmm.... weird... I always thought most ppl buying downtempo releases are actually music listeners looking for a good mind journey....

So let me get it right, Cosmo....
I have to get 2 seconds of silence betweed every track on a CD I buy because every second person in the forum is a wannabe DJ?

Do you think pink floyd would agree to seperate the 6 different part of atom heart mother for the convenience of bedroom DJs?

Anyway, why don't you ask the labels to buy the tracks from them seperately?

My devotion for music is bigger than my hobby as a bedroom dj, so i don't really care if the music can be beatmatched or not for my sets...Of course it's allways nice to find tunes that can be mixed together because of the similar structure flow and bpm, but that is not the most important thing for shure. As long as music is made with feelings it's ok for me

and linked music doesn't seem to be a big problem to do your own mixes

Only an opinion:-)

well,do you know that tracks that are 10 minutes longer and at the end bummm!its over in a second or aggressively faded out?i hate this but i have to say that sounds strange asking the music makers to create functional music...is this design?the music is as it is.....are you happy if someone ask you hey dont put so much pads in your song because for me its very noisy and i cant mix it(ah!ah!ah!well maybe we convince some producers to make special extended tunes with 5 minutes in the end so i can mix smoke and take a shower at the same time!

I seem to remember the old reactivate trance compilations used to come in two versions, mixed or unmixed. Or occasionally they be unmixed and a bonus mixed cd came free. I'm guessing its a bit expensive to do this, but nice ideas. Otherwise as Bom*shankar says you should be able to buy individual tracks from the labels, probably as downloaded wav files.           www.BarakaRecords.com/brij.htm

On one hand I enjoy a chill cd that is softly mixed so that you can enjoy the flow all the way through, but on the other find it a tad frustrating when trying to mix tracks that are mixed aggressively.

Here's a question though, do producers bear in mind the dj when writing the ending to a track, maybe sometimes tracks don't get played out so often if they are harder to mix... hmmm            - - It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice... - -

I will never bare in mind something like that mate...
I mean, I make what I make - I really don't want to start caring how much it's going to be played because of it being an easy mix.

And besides, a good dj can mix just about anything with anything.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

I'm not really sure of the need to mix tracks on chill out comps unless its a particluar Dj's mix and advertised as such. Its not like the silence between tracks is going to break the mood or anything - which you might get if you had gaps in a full-on mind-f*ck psy gabba compilation - I think its nice to have some space between tunes.
