No offence but you should really start reading other posts, I mean I just said that. It even looks like you copied the pic i posted.

You're right! But because fruity loops hasnt been made for years, now it's called FL Studio, so the fruityloops version is way outdated.

But, I hope you dont have a problem with the DAW man, for instance IMO FL Studio has the most powerful modulation mapping of any DAW I've ever used - you can do stuff in it (for years now) that is only in the last couple of years made slightly possible in other DAWs. Not that I agree with the FL Studio PO's choice in features and flow during the evolution of the product, or that there isn't another program where I'm more comfortable with, but I know people who can make the most killer tunes with it, and I know a lot of people who cant do anything with the all might pro tools and / or cubase. Again, it's not the tool that counts, but how you use it.

Why did my name pop up there? I'm wasn't involved in this thread, but curiously you stated a random slander / criticism / insult, and then out of the blue you placed my name with no reason.. do you have something you want to say to me?

In the sense that every single parameter is mappable using free-text formulas, allowing the definition of really wacky formulas and huge one-knobs doing the most exquisite things - you can map the [0-127] input though a formula with tons of logic, and output the [0-127] signal programatically.

And, I said that in my opinion, for whatever that's worth - there will be many who disagree with me.

Try getting Ableton to map a command from 0 to 63 outputs 0, from 64 to 127 it outputs the scaled value from 0 to 127, so output = (input - 64) * 2 - only possible now though max devices. Then try getting it to map in a parabolic or hyperbolic way, only in the fourth quarter of the scale, and at last define that the initial scale from 0 to 63 outputs an inverted scaled ladder of values from 127 to 0 - things that even fruity loops was able to do 10 years ago!          Super Banana Sauce http://www.soundcloud.com/knocz

Hmmmm interesting, although i was only dissing the GUI and window workflow...

although instrument and effect groups everything is mappable within that in ableton

Yes (almost..) everything is mappable, but not in the way I mentioned.. Native, Ableton only permits linear mappings with a pre-determined range (where the lower boundary can be above the upper boundary), so anything non linear has to be done with an external tool - like a max device.           Super Banana Sauce http://www.soundcloud.com/knocz
