Observation: if several tracks are mixed "seamlessly" [not clear where one ends, the next starts] - it may sound like ONE LONG track, which may be boring.

IMO, the beginning of the text track should be somehow HEARD...

Any ideas?

It's time to move on to the next step in the psychedelic revolution. We've reached a certain point, but we're not moving any more.

If that is the way it is for you, then that is the way it is.

Tracks, Sets, Parties ---- You decide how you want music to be indexed, as a DJ I focus on the beginning and end of DJ sets, because thats the journey for me.

However, when I organize parties I try to view the whole of the lineup also...

All in all, I think you shouldnt say its supposed to be one way or the other.

Whats important is what works, sometimes its one thing, sometimes another... locking yourself to it having to be in some certain way, whether it be seamless beatmixing or fade mixing is in my view as a dj wrong.

Whatever works works.

I believe you should end every track, wait for the crowd to whistle, clap, shout and scream 'killagrrr' ! Then grab the mic and say the usual "Thank you, love yall...You guys are great. The next one's dedicated to the big boobed girl wearing a yellow skirt on the right side of the dance floor "... and then play skazi!

Nice one!!! :):):):)

Just one correction: that girl would prefer the track "Switch" (fragment here: http://slil.ru/24234675)

I think a mixture of both is the best. I don't like lot's of breakdowns in the middle of songs, meant to give that extreme peaking feeling, ala Eskimo w/extra cheese, and a dash of fuzzy hugs.............. but, if a dj knows when to bring it down in the set maybe once or twice, and throw in an intro that sets the mood for that part of the journey, laid on top of the end of the track before, it can be quite artistc...... and help create a picturesque sort of scenery, made up of beats and philosophy. Of course, the 'shut up and dance' aproach works the best, if the dj spinning doesn't feel like story telling.

NO cheesy breakdowns is the main concern for me...... they tend to make me a little urked.

there is some tunes that will be very smart idea to play it from first with such a weird sample and long opening but most of the set must be as 1 track more true 2 say one story thats the thing in dj set that must be as a long psychedelic story.

one thing 2 say again that the first tune and the end one is the key for make the story 2 be perfect.

salam aliekoom.           Happy Happy,Joy Joy.
