we'll keep destroying ourselves (as a human race) as we always have until we finally succeed in it.
i think the chief time keeper of the mayans was already pretty efficient when he made a calendar for 20 b'ak'tuns = 7885 solar years.
we make them for one solar year at a time. and we don't think the world is going to end every time our annual calendar ends.

we didn't learn nothing from the ancient civilizations...
we just read historical books and then we say wOUA...that was amazing... but we continue to destroy our planet and human race without reason every single day.The reason for sure is the money, the power and the biggest (mind) virus called: Greed.

I think that mentality of "its never going to change and we are going to keep on destroying ourselves" is a big part of the problem.
Its like the typical dysfunctional person with horrible self esteem who is always down on himself repeating in their head things like "I am loser, a piece of shit, I am never going to change...". Well this sounds very much like how a lot of people view humanity as a whole.. and this mentality is a downward spiral, a trap and fixes nothing. We want to start fixing the problem then we then need to step out of the mindset that has brought us here which is is in great part that negative view of ourselves. Before you pull yourself from the gutter you have to at least believe a little in your self, same with the world. So be aware of your thoughts and what they create and what they support, if its fear and negativity or love. We all think we are insignificant and that what a single person does can't affect the whole but are mindsets are contagious... whether we are stuck in negativity or vibrating on a more positive frequency you immediately affect all the people you interact with. Some people even claim that this universe is like a hologram where every small part contains the whole.. so even though we see each other as separate parts we are really in some way the the same reflection of the whole. So maybe by changing the part you can really change the whole?
I encourage you to challenge your beliefs about what you think humanity can achieve today. We can imagine anything... that should give a hint of what we might be able to achive..
There is a Maya proverb which (roughly translated) goes something like:
"he who believes creates, and who creates makes, and who makes transforms himself and the world he lives in" |

the typical dysfunctional person would answer to you that it's no use to give lectures about belief and love.
in fact the typical dysfunctional person would feel even more like a loser after reading your advice
as this mind set is a vicious circle that strengthens it's form every new round and is very hard to break.

i agree with Aluxe almost completely, adding that the dysfunctional person who realizes his malfunction, faces clearly a matter of choice if he will try to change it, or not. and that being a choice, makes quite a lot of people (separating pathological cases) more responsible maybe of what they face in life or what thoughts come in their heads everyday randomly. |

Personally I think the date will pass like so many other failed predictions and prophesy both have in the past, and will continue to do so until people realize that only they are in charge of their destiny and are also personally responsible for the decisions they make in their life.

Can't they predict something positive  like "everyone gets free beer on july 2013" ?
So the actual alignment with the center of the galaxy had already happened a decade ago and nothing happened. Now we should get some solar storms in 2013 and get some more radiation from space. So nothing happens on Dec 25.
Because it is all a conspiracy and a nice way to make easy money with a fake story. Like so many other lies. 
Just shows how many people are getting fooled with a stupid fiction story!
People enjoy to live in their imagination
It is just profitable. Check out all the bullshit around: rabbit holes, illuminatis, quantum phase shifts that gives you a boner, harry poter . It is amazing how none of it is real in such a massive amount and makes so much "real" dollars.
Yes the whole system is a bomb ticking.
You buy, you need a job, you make some other bullshit for sale.
In the process you pollute, you destroy nature ,you destroy other peoples lives. All because you "need" to buy to survive at least.
Massive consumer demand = massive production=massive pollution=massive profits=massive natural resource depletion=massive earth pissed off.
Almost nobody can live without money. So they keep you racing with interests and debts.
So basicaly it is we are who destroy the earth. Little by little . We deplete life In order to live for ourselves. You can be positive all the way but it won't stop this, nothing can stop this. You can make a decision to live in poverty. Without money. No Money = No Water or Food = You Die.
Sometimes people the situation is that bad.
So come on stop buying products stop using money. Grow your own food. Make money irrelevant. But you need to probably pay for the land first or atleast conquer it somehow lol
It is all a natural cycle of human life based on necessities and instincts for survival and happy life

+1, it's not possible to enlight the whole human race at the same time, it's like a earthworm, o matter how u try, the head always gets there first and the tail wants to get there also.
So the so called more advenced society has it's BMW's and Mercedes, the other part have horses but dream of Mercedes.

Well don't you guys want to be part of a great movement? why not join the "consciousness shift" ? Maybe the Mayas had no special meaning for 2012 but I have noticed that so many of these people who believe in the shift are also active in trying to create this shift by working on their own consciousness. They are working for it. And I find that fucking beautiful. Hey I may not believe in the Maya prophecy but I totally believe in people that have their intention and heart set to creating a better world. SO I AM TOTALLY IN. Any day! I will be there beating those mystical drums to the beat of the dharma with you. And if you believe that we can change the world together I will always back you up. Because you are the human I really believe in. Bring it! join the movement. Be part of the dance. We all get together on this dancefloor and we will create some serious magic..
And what happened to the psychedelic movement anyway? where is the mystical movement of consciousness that was part of this scene? like your peyote dreams in the Goa days.. so full of love and with a grand vision of freedom and love for all. Don't check out. That is the path!!! |

The desire to be part of something greater than oneself is a common human feeling, which, in my opinion, is based on one of two things (which are most likely related):
1.) The fear of death/the unknown.
2.) The fear that there is no "greater meaning" to anything.
Personally, I feel like there is enough to wonder and ask questions about in the natural world without needing to diminish it by making up man-made myths, monsters, and spook stories to attempt to explain something which they otherwise cannot explain. So they invent an answer, because it's not as terrifying to them as having no answer at all.
