i think you never been in a festival , and you never meet much people working on festivals ,
i do know a lot of them and to say :

is not true ,
there is a capitalstic aspect , but most of the organisers and workers i know they realy believe on bilding a new society with new rules and new way to feel/see money and to use money ,
i know personaly people who organise comercial events for money (to pay invoices) and psytrance parties for pleasure ,
you girls/boys need to see what hapening in reality, not stay at home and theorize stupid concepts on forums
pathetic is the word YES , who say that before ? |

there are no values when talking about a big psytrance festival, cut the crap people, its pure hedonism and fortune hunting, others go to have fun, whatever their fun is, and others to make money, simple as that.

I know organizers too, ever from the 90s up to now.Even from various scenes, means in psytrance too. Some of them that make small parties make it more for the fun, some other that make big things and invest a lot make it rather for the cash. Simple.

as being involved in this for some years already... there are very few who think they can make money with a trance festival, but there are bunch which is not for the money but more to boost their own ego... and fo sure a small part who just does it for the sake of getting together, sharing the passion and trying to make it a compfortable place for people but thats only few
otherwise artists as soonj as they are booked everything is killa and PLUR but when it goes wrong with their bookings then the shit start so on every coin there are 2 sides...

+1 - and i second that - and yes it was me
which said is pathetic and it is - 'cause there ain't this gap - and i know a few organisers which never made money out of any party, indeed even had to put money from their side in to cover costs or loss - i'm an organiser myself to - since 1988 (started with indie bands and got electronic) and never organised parties for the money, but to give something to the people and those smiles and the music is a good deal with me - so a lot is not true - but there are sure always 2sides of a medal - but that is in all aspects of life

mr ethical pig are you jealus?? hedonism is not about just having fun and dancing, is something different than that. hedonism is the idea that pleasure is the highest good. some make money yes and some others try to, in a 5000 people crowd 5-10% of them are there for the money the rest is there for the love. name some festivals or parties you've been at this year or the last, please tell us more about your observations on the dancefloor! |
