one question...hopefully someone will give a reasonable answer...
why are parties in athens so damn expansive?
make more parties...and more reasonable prices, and maybe less trendy clubs...no?

Can you give us an example of an expensive event and an example of a trendy club?

Also any suggestions on what the ticket price should be and any clubs that you got in mind to propose would be nice.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

smorphelia8 is absolutely wright.

but i also think organizers do the best they can..
so, either we have not the wished organizers, else the situation is very complex and messy for big public parties.           -_-_-_-_-_-_

I didnt mean to criticize, mine was just a question, because obviously I know very little about athens and its party scene and facilities....but I guess that only klubs are the option...
an expensive event? every party that asks 20 or 25 euro at the door...for some people thats two days of hard work...
thanx for your answers...

every type of live show in Greece is more expensive than in other european (or not european) countries, you should know that..bands and djs simply ask for much more, I'm not sure about the reasons but distance is a main one. I live in the netherlands during the last year and I pay around 15 euros to see great artists. In greece I would pay 30 euros at least. But I'm sure it's not the organiser but the band that asks too much

I suppose that the cost's of living in Greece are as twice as higher than in Holland, which I personally really doubt.

But I'm sure it's not the organiser but the band that asks too much

And again I really doubt this.

Here in Serbia, for a major event with big shot artists like Astrix, Talamasca, Skazi or U name it, You would pay 5-10 euros top.

Yes its not the artists fault. Is just that the Greek organizers are (neo)-Greek... hope you got the point.

DETOX: Its your job as an organizer to find and exploit new places or to decide (honestly and objectively) the normal ticket price.           +-+talking with ali3ns around the universe+-+

A)I still didnt get a specific answer on my question for someone to name an expensive event,a trendy club and a suggested ticket price. So i am asking again the same thing just in case someone can be specific so that we can continue this discussion.Feel free to use one of the events i have also participated if you like, would be more than glad to talk about it with you.

B)Smorphelia ofcourse only clubs are the solution for any kind of party at least in the city of Athens as far as i am concerned. If someone wants to organise and advertise a party in our city then he must have a club because organising legal events in the forest or in the mountains or in any other place is not possible.Private parties is another case but public events is something tottally different and no matter how much i would like it its not possible to announce a big event in a beach around Athens or at Parnitha mountain or wherever.Even if i organise a private party in my house there is a big chance i will get busted,it has happened you know.

C)Liquidchill not only artists ask for more money when performing in Greece (from Skazi and GMS to Tiesto and Nick Warren) but also the cost of organising an event in Greece is much higher than in the majority of the European countries not to mention about the risk of getting busted.

D)Positive036 ofcourse you pay 5-10 euros to attend an event in Serbia featuring some top psy trance names because not only the artists you mentioned charge less money to play in countries like Serbia,Bulgaria,FYROM and more but also the cost of organising an event in Serbia (which i know very good since i collaborate with some major promoters there) is at least half the price from organising an event in Greece. The cost to print 10.000 flyers in Greece is lets say 10 euros and in Serbia its 5 euros, the cost of having a girl working for you in the entrance for the guest list in Greece its 10 euros and in Serbia its 4 euros, the cost of renting a club in Greece is 100 euros and in Serbia its 40-50 euros etc etc etc.Thats why the price ticket in Greece is lets say 25 euros and in Serbia its 10 euros. You are talking about way different economies mate.Greece is one of the most expensive countries in the world and especially Athens is one of the most expensive cities on the planet and its funny cause very few people know that since our city and country are very rarely listed on various money lists concerning the cost of living around the planet but the European Union places us among the first places in all of its money reports.

E)Drunken Monk its my job as an organiser to find the appropriate place for the appropriate event with the appropriate line up so that the people will have a good time and also to decide about the normal ticket price in such a way that i wont loose money in the end of the day and that the people will not complain a lot about it.The ideal for me is in the end of the day to leave the club with a couple thousand euros in my pocket as a profit for my efforts, money investment and risk, the people to be happy after a successful night and honour me with their presence in my future events and everyone to be paid from the artists to the personel and even the club owner who trusted me his property.Thats not easy at all trust me,especially when we are talking about big scale events. If you think that i am looking for a big profit as an organiser then try to start your own events just for your fun or for a small profit of lets say 500 euros and then come and tell me if the whole thing worths your efforts and risks or not especially when in the end of some nights the weather wont be good or the people decide not to come to your party and in the morning you will owe thousands of euros to people all around you,not to speak about that awfull night when you will see the police busting your party, accuse you of 100 things that you have never done and take you to the police station for the weekend and to the prosecutor on Monday morning.Guys organising parties is not as easy as you think, not to mention safe as you think.

such a shame ,greece is a beatyful place but its getting funked by arrogant people as it has throughout its history... we need a change of attitude and thats all we can so i believe ,change ourselves hoping that others will be changed too

btw , detox i dont understand your question: name an expensive party? well the cheapest party is around 30 euros isntit?so what are you saying is that because YOU(or any other promoter) cannot make them cheaper then ppl shouldnt complain ,,,,well sorry to ruin this but IT IS EXPENSIVE NONETHELESS ,it doesnt seem so to u maybe but thats unimportant really cause the party people ARE the scene and if there is a complain i reckon u should view it with much respect and not with that "i am doing u a favour by doing parties "attitude

Psy_Mystic you cant understand my question because you didnt bother to think of it at all and thats why you wrote all these offtopic things about my supposed attitude towards parties and party people.

A)You didnt understand my question about naming an expensive party you said.Well i cant get more clear than that i guess,i just need someone to name an expensive party so we can go on with the talking while being specific and not talking in general. If you think that my question was ironic then obviously you didnt read the rest of my original post where i asked people about their opinion about the ideal ticket price and ofcourse you didnt bother reading my second post where i explained that i needed the name of an expensive party so that we can start talking more specifically.Next time before posting whatever you got in your mind make sure to think about it twice because i have no time in dealing with your false thoughts and repeating myself.I mean respect not me but the rest of the users around here who participate in this topic and do bother to read the other users words and dont want to read irrelevant thoughts and things.

B)You said also that the cheapest party is around 30 euros.Well sorry but browsing the forum will make you see parties varying from 12 to 15 and to 20 and to 25 and ofcourse 30 euros and even more expensive than that.Nice try to manipulate the conversation. You can do better than that if you ask me though.

C)No comment to make about your statements that i implied with my words that people shouldnt complain about expensive parties or that i claimed or even acted like i am doing a favour to anyone by doing parties.I just hope to realise that you owe me an apology.

P.S Thats why i should avoid participating in public forums discussions, most people just say whatever comes down to their mind on the heat of the moment without bothering reading other people's words, koinos lene oti tous katevei.
