Well i think its personal. Some people just cant play under the influence of a drug... Some people cant drive, some cant study, some cant work, etc (and i mean not just legal drugs). It also depend which drug we are talking about and the dose that it was took. Of course that if u are fucked up u wont be able to play nice, but under effect with full conscience and focused, my view is that it can really goes fine. Lsd really can make u loose focus,so be very carefull eheheh.

If you can focus on the mixing and stuff it can be good coz you can feel the vibes and ppl more easily while on acid and really get into the music
acid dong get you out focus but the opposite it makes you too focused on things and thats the problem you can suddenly in the middle of your set starts dreaming and you look at the volume button on the mixer for example and he looks so nice suddenly and maybe funny and you are starting to diagnose it and than you forgot that you had to mix the track with the next one |

Almost none of the drugs out there improves your focus (Methylphenidate does on some ppl). It's an illusion to think that, the same as a drunk person feeling he is OK to drive. The driver might get safely home, same as the DJ might finish his set fine, but they are both inadequate for the job.
I didn't say a DJ can't perform under the influence (drugs, alcohol, tiredness), I just said that the DJ will not perform the best way he can.

without acid its not acid party which that how it called back in 93 in goa....
i wouldnt play "sahi" it takes all the fun out...
yes i play on acid now thats real fun.... and my best way to give set 4 pplz that in your mind.. thats my best way of playin! (karnaf notice the best sets and lives i saw was dj on freakin lots of drugz...)it wont work if the hole party on ecstazy... i need real acid vibe then it can blow your mind  |

you could start whit psilocybensis and vodka maybe some dextromethorphan and m.d.m.a. that keeps the reccords spinning propperleeand mystical experiments should be done too theyre wont be any nightmaers if do it daytime. |

its a personal thing.. you have to know your self very well.. not all fucked up.. just a litle warm up to be more awake... personaly i just do that with friends on private partys... in partyes i think we should be very professional.. because you can do a hell of a set because of drugs.. but if anything goes wrong... prepare to a very bad set..

People that take drugs are "empty" because they can't relate enough to this music to get in a trancey state by music alone.

IMO, Nothing connects you more to psychedelic music than acid, it seems they're just made for each other.
It's just that today, most of the music played in parties, especially here in Israel, is hardly what I would call "Psychedelic".
To get real "Psychedelic", you should check out some of the parties and festivals in Finland this summer.....A rarity in these parts. Now THAT'S psychedelic for ya ass.

Do you think that producers of psytrance make better or more psychedelic music if they have experienced lsd, ecstasy or any other psychoactive substance togeather with music, compared to producers that never had this kind of experience on a tranceparty/festival?
Personally I think it´s a plus to have experienced a total ecstasy/trip bliss feeling togeather with the music to be able to recreate this vibe in the music.
Not nessecery though. |

My imagaination in the beginning was that all artsits do so to make music... But I was astonished when I learned great atists like Son Kite are totally straight but still manages to compose music that knocks peoples socks off. How do they do that? How do they adjust the frequency? Magicians in my opinion. Well, what I'm trying to say is having the experience is not always superior. |

I don't still use drugs, but i have taken several times psychoactive drugs and i am sure i changes the mind, the view of things and all your senses.
I think if you took a drug(i think mostly lsd, dope and mushrooms) you will then always hear all music, and even the noises of nature in another way. It is an advantage that will stay with you.
For sure it helps to make music that is concepted to affect druged people and not druged people in a psychedelic way.
But be careful and don't do drugs to much, better one good or no trip than getting adicted or crazy.
This counts especially for MDMA, that is very unhealthy for body and mind!
