Well... there has always been a debate over dark vs light and all that other stuff.... We are indeed human, and some of us take psytrance incredibly seriously. (more than we should at times) But at the end of the day, the point that should be conveyed is no matter what time of the day or night anyone happens to play, the music is there to be enjoyed.           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

I wonder how come this party isn't listed on the love parade website, only the tantra/pheonix float is. just a bunch of rave stuff on the party list. why? are we not as important? are we not "official"?

I cant wait until tonight.....

Mubali, wait till you hear my new tracks....

Looking forward to it... You best burn me a cd with them on there too mofo...

I don't think we are "Official" actually, but who knows what the story is behind that.. Doesn't matter though... We're all gonna unload earthquake style on the unprepared.           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

all i can say is that with just an hour for a timeslot, i'm going to throw the hardest and craziest in my collection.

for me, in the last 10 years of spinning, i've encountered many different lineup situations where the promoter knew about the type of stuff that i played but booked me for an inappropriate slot. The only thing you can do as a DJ is play what moves the floor. if your style doesn't fit the time, but you can gradually build it up and make people dance, i say go for broke.

don't pull any stops just because of what time you're playing, let it flow without any convictions and people should dance to it.

one thing that i've learned about trance parties, Time does not exist, if the music is good, people will dance, then the party ends and we all go home (hopefully fullfilled, happy, and tired from groovin on the floor)

see you all tonight, make sure to wear comfortable shoes

What a truly amazing experience.....

Thanx so much to Spook and Witchdokta for bringing Hidro and I up to S.F.....here's a shortened report!

Friday night was a chill vibe with max. 75 peeps. In the main room, Random was good and full-on but the speakers made it hard to hear everything, Mubali threw down like a mad man, he played all his own tunes...he got sooo good. Hidro is always a top of the line DJ, playing the craziest stuff with a track of his included. Chromatone has a very driving sound with lots of build-ups and breakdowns, the Neuromoter stuff he was playing was crowd pleasing. I had a great time playing as well, it was nice to see the whole room going at one point. They shut us down promptly at 3am. Props to Obu, Akasha, Saturnia, and Lucina(who filled in for Spyros M.I.A.) for keeping the second room chill with the lighter side of psytrance.

Then the love parade saturday day.....WOW. 12,000 people, about 15 floats that I saw (which were basically jumbo flatbed trucks with sound systems on them)....and I would say the 3 most popular ones were the cheez candy tech-house skillz float, the D+B float (which was nice cause it had an old school sound), and believe it or not, the psytrance float! That place was thickly crowded with screaming dancers! Spook and Witchdokta played amazingly, Chromatone made people scream, and Liam shy was very powerful...hard and dark! Looks like psytrance is accepted by the mainstream....thanx to Tantra and Pheonix family for representing.

Saturday night was the real party for the hardcore psytrance lover...very thick crowd. It was nice to find out that the main stage was outdoors! it was right on a "dock", so there was water beneath our feet. I saw the coast guard drive by once, but he didn't bother us. Liam shy was awesome, Witchdokta and Dr. Spook impress the hell out of me....they play the craziest sh*t!!! Earthling played crap....it sounded like Ibiza's top 10, vocals and all...it definitely didnt fit the party. Earthling's Tim Leary track, the one on his album, is one of my top ten favorite's, but the stuff he played was NOTHING like that. It seemed like there was a breakdown every minute on the dot, very annoying. Then Sirus isness, WOW! Hard mad driving insaneness! It wasnt as crazy as Witchdokta, but it was nonstop beat, bass, and psychedelicness. He really had the crowd going thickly all the way until they shut us down at 6am. Amazing!

This has been a memorable experience....cant wait till I go back up to nor cal for C.O.S. on the 22nd....another all weekend adventure!

Paradigm- thanx for letting me nap at your house during your afterparty!
