Thanks to all for your great suggestions. All the organizations above are great because they are doing great job by making this world a better place. But what I think is, all this organizations are huge and our little donation won't make any difference. They already have lots of sponsors and helpers who donate hundreds of thousands$$.
Ideally we're looking for a smaller group, for whom our money will be actual help. Maybe for some childrens hospital, or a reaserch for childrens cancer... Or abused ( ) children, or something like that.           I don't know, but I've been told, if you keep on dancing you won't grow old.

yes, I would say there are better orgs than unicef. amnesy intenational is a good one, and handles the money in a good manner, you can trust them. i trust greenpeace but I am starting to have some questions.           `Bottomless wonders spring from simple rules, which are repeated without end` Mandelbrot

Nice idea, i've thought about this a few times though with slightly different perspective - i've been on the lookout for a local charity rather than an international one, one where we can actually see the difference we made. I also think a smaller donation would go a longer way with a local orgnization.
The idea is awesome and definitely possible - while there may be some artists who're into this scene only for the money, we are fortunate to have many who are just wonderful human beings and will gladly be a part of such an effort.
Whatever charity you choose, I hope it works out. All the best, surrender.

great idea guys....Gadi, and SKyBlue...I will find out too about local charities as we often volunteer at some through my school. Some of them may actually provide the space? local charities, and even women services..like for abused women/children...to get them a fresh start..I will do some research as I know it is hard to find charities that actually use 100% of the money to the actual cause...good luck guys....

hey guys, thanks for the support - although we havent picked one yet. some good suggestions here - like SkyBluGoa said we are looking for someone who we can make a diffrence to.

im more leaning towards the non human orgs. like saving forests etc. we will soon get going.           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

at the risk of contributing to the repetition here, i still have to add mine: great idea, guys! i'm sure it will feel so rewarding to put forth all the effort in making this party just so to contribute positively to our brothers and sisters, or our environment.

I also have to say, this concept is certain to yeild a KILLER vibe at the party

How about donating the money to the victims of the horrible tsunami disaster?

Sounds like a worthy charity to me.           Live for the journey, not the destination.
