Dear Moderators of this forum....

i would like to ask and know the proccess that you follow before locking or erasing a topic! Is it a personal choise? Is any kind of rule? Or if a moderator is pissed off because his girlfriend gave head to another one is coming here to Lock or Erase interesting topics?

Thank you in advance for the answers...

Dot Kite, some of questions are irelevant for this forum at all thus they been closed. I think moderators need to be even more active with locking and erasing threads/posts.

perhaps this topic would be better under the "IsraTrance" section or a personal message to the mods.

anyway, ill take this chance to say that usually the mods are 100% correct in locking topics. Plenty of warnings are issued, stuff like that.

dot, do you feel like one of your topics was wrongfully locked?           The IsraTrance MySpace Group:

Dear sOft,

I do agree that most of the times the moderators are doing good job! I don't blame them....Is just that I ve seen several kind of topics being locked without even explaining the reasons...

Therefore, I would like to know from the moderators if they follow any special procedure before Locking up a Topic.

At the enf of the day, this is a public forum and not everybody has something very interesting to say, but this doesn't mean to erase his/her right to express himself/herself....

That's all....

i cant speak for the mods, but maybe the reason for locking is so obvious they dont feel the need to explain. that may not sound like a good reason for not explaining, but it's understandable when you are dealing with the crap-load of posts on this forum.

Willy Wonka, people have a vendetta against mods simply because they are mods. sometimes people are out to get them. i dont think that "more active" locking would help anything. "use moderation in moderation." or something to that effect. sound familar? it's good advice, it keeps the moral up.

anyway, i await a mod's point of view.          The IsraTrance MySpace Group:

Wrong section, should be in 'www.isratrance.com' section..

Now, if you would have search for it, you would have relize why topics like This one should be locked.. This one for example, for not using the search, because theres already an existing thread about this issue:

s0ft is right, Dot Kite, this thread would already require an action from me or a colleague : moving it to the isratrance.com section.

It will probably be done later, but I'll just answer here for now..

First, all the users whose topics have been deleted/locked are warned via private message, it is simply impossible for us to make an action without any justification to the user..

Then, we are not machines, Dot Kite, so we both follow some 'rules' and have our own judgement before deciding if we lock/delete a thread..

I understand sometimes the user can get pissed of, but in example most of the locked threads are actually already discussed ones.

Furthermore we have always the possibility to ask to another moderator what should be done, in "our" section, or via MSN.. So I think no one of us can act like a dictator or whatever..

Hope these lines will have less or more answered your to questions..

Dear KakoOlalaJwal,

I really appreciate your answer!
But unfortunately, you did not gave me any kind of guidline on how a topic is getting locked! I know that you lock the topics and erase "useless" posts for the good of this forum....but at least, when you (the moderators) decide to lock a topic, it should be nice to provide the reason to everybody and not only to the one that started the topic....isn' t it?

Please, do not take this as an attack or something...I just want to understand the guidelines.....

Moreover, I would like to say to Saylum, that I am quite bored of using the "search" on Isratrance...and do you know why? Because it is very low qualite search engine....you request something and you get thousand irrelevant posts....

Dot Kite, there are two possibilities :

Topic locked : I think all of us do try to explain in a "last post before the lock" why they are doing it.. and so everybody can read it.. There may be exceptions, but in these case, s0ft said it well, it's surely because the reason is quite obvious..

Topic deleted : Pretty complicated to inform ALL the users who have been a part of the thread.. Don't you think ? We would need a serious roxxor in coding/programming to build a script able to identify each user and automatically send a PM..

Because don't forget that we are not full-time Isratrance workers hehe.. We all have some occupations besides so it's simply impossible to find the time to send a pm to each user like "hey : the following thread has been deleted, ok ? thanks for the understanding"

Hope you'll agree           .

Now that makes me wonder if I'm the perfect sucker to tell to the user each time : "hey look, this url is a topic already dealing with the same subject.." Don't you think I'm tired of it ?

There are tips to reduce the ammount of irrelevant post you know.. I don't know why i'm always finding what I'm looking for and not you.. I bet you're not more stupid than I am already, no ?
