I have heard theories that stomping the earth in unision can cause rain?

Could the global trance community be part of live 8 or should I say should. I am basicaly a very vocal spectator, if I had and cloute I would be puttin my vocalness in action but I am no producer or performer not even a promoter I am just a simple living farmer. We are trying to feed the world quite literaly,it unfortunate that only the over fed get what we grow. Htis is a chance to change that. the philospophy of the trance community appears very similiar to that of live 8 soo I was just wondering if was possible for a connection to be made and how you would do it if you could. As the live 8 people say its about raising awareness.

Isn't Earthdance the equivalent?           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

i think its a great idea! it s all good and well to claim to be spiritual and aware etc
when we see what the g8 stands for and how these people put economics before humans i think as a scene we should do something about it. i think that actions such as Organic Recs triple compilation in aid of tsunami victims was a great move in this direction.

we have had to pay for earthdances here, some proceeds went to earthdance to raise money for tibet and similiar situations and other amount went to local wildlife charity. I am not sure if all the artists donate their time or not, does anybody else know? I guess the similarity is more the global link up and the idea behind it.

My thought about live 8 is that its a shame that they only really incorporate main stream music, I can understand the logic but I could also see the impression of bringing all different artists from different scenes together.

Amaizing idea, it could realy be a blast if it would work.. It reminds me the CD that Organic Records released to help in the Tsunami issue..

Hope someone would take it serious and some invest some money into it, and realy get this gig working.. I dont think that artists would denie to perform if they would be asked, and it could be an amaizing success if someone would just run it..

So, Labels or someone who wants to Invest, start working on something!           Peace & Love!

no offense but the live 8 was a huge sham.

<in psytrance terms>
If i owe you 500 bucks and then a bunch of local people get togather and have a party to plead with you to cancel my debt, then you agree in exchange for my nord lead synth would you say that my debt has been cancelled or that i sold you something to get out of debt?
that is what is going on with africa, the debt will be cancelled in exchange for public african utilities made private which the G8 corporations will get for free. Sorry, the G8 isnt in the business of giving money away.
ultimately africa will probly be worse off in the long run.

Yeah, slyman is right. And consider this: A lot of the money that's intended for humanitarian aid goes to the wrong people, i.e. the rich, who don't need it. We here in The Netherlands raised millions of euro's for the tsunami victims, only to find out later almost nothing of it got to the people who really needed it. If you really want to make a difference you have to get a lot of money and go there yourself to do humanitarian work. That's the only way the people who need your help/money are actually going to get it.

oh yeah the world is a fucked place the rich are the powerful and the week are the poor, your actual standing in the animal kingdom has nothing to do with it. some vengeful sad lonely turd can suck up hundred times his own share of the worlds resources whilst a strong proud man walks alone by the masses accususing him of being crazy for not falling at the feet of the turd. Be patient history if what has been and the future is to come, empires rise and fall like leaves in autum, the green cak will be nothing but some good compost one day. the rules can only rule if we let them keep us down. we don't need to fight just continue to walk proud.

Live 8 might not effect the outcome of the g8 but it should at the least cause them to consider they are being watched. imaging if all those popstars started calling for a global no spend day. what would the coporations think if a billion or so people across world decided not to put a cent a yen, a euro, a pound .... into the world economy. We don't have to be lemmings and something like live 8 is making a very tactful point of this. Or maybe just that they have more power over the lemmings than the g8.

That would also mean that no one were to buy their music. I doubt they would recommend people to do that

Live8 did more for the artists themselves (big record sales after the event) than what's it's going to do for Africa in the long run. Even with the erase of debts Africa wont rise above poverty before all Dictators and Despotes have been removed for good. They are one of the reasons why the majority are poor and the elite are stinky rich. And after that we have to open up our markets so they can sell their products on the same terms as we do.

Before those things are done. Nothing will chance. Not even good intentions will change anything!
