Beatmaching chillout takes a big amount of time in research and practice, because even with simmilar BPMs many tracks are not "compatible".
If it is well done it doenst matter if people are dancing or sitting down, because the beatmaching can be done on 80 BPMs on very slow tunes or at 100 110 120 and so on, depends on the intensity of what the DJ is mixing at the time.
The thing about beatmaching is about flow and sense, to get the flow it as to be realy well done and is not like mixing psychedelic (that almost everything is "mixible" with everything), chilloutout tracks are so different from oneanother that it as to be X track with Y Track, otherwise is preferable to mix with outro > intro.
The idea that mixing outro > intro is for amateurs is also wrong, every mix as its trick and time, and theres place for all the mixing processes posible.
If you beatmach chillout for 1 hour as to make sence, the tracks have to mach in each other not only in the BPM (watch out for the Master tempo if the difference between tracks is 1 or 2 bpm because of the track tone).
I have an old mix all done arround 100bpms, toke me a long time to do, but is great when it works!
Will look for it and post it soon on the DJset section.

the eternal debate on how to mix chill out!
I really don;t think it matter's as much as people think, unless you are a DJ yourself then most people aren't going to mind if you don't mix you're tracks, especially if there is a really relaxed sitting down vibe. Of course the DJ should make some effort to flow and consistency of their tracks, but as long as they are dedicated to giving everyone a relaxing, floaty ride then they can't go wrong:) If people are dancing and the DJ manages to pull off some great mixes and pleases even the most dedicated of listeners, then that is also great too - but doesn;t have to be the main objective of the DJ.

>entalamoska - that DJ set you are talking about , is it the first one you posted on Isra, a few months ago? That was one of the best sets I have heard for sometime, I'm always playing it on my drive to work            - - It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice... - -
