And pls pls the most important thing are discounts when buying full releases and getting them in WAV. Like for example a 10 track album intead of playing 1.49 per song, pay only $12 or $11 and $5 for wav handling. Tha would be pretty nice

Damn thats like $15-17...i'd rather buy a cd online and get the artwork along with the music...makes more sense...files are more easily corruptable cds are scartchable and stealable but that depends...also its too much effort one needs to do when they want to hear the wav file, like transfer it to a ipod or cd and its like u r paying the same price but doing the work, indeed a good model for the labels but ever thought about the customer who has to sit there wait for the download to finish and then transfer it to hear it..and not get paid for doing work           When death comes to your doorstep, make sure you are alive

Well, the fact that I dont live in europe makes that price to make sence, for me cd's cost up $30 each beacuse of shipping and i have to wait 4-5 days.

in that case is the same, except for the waiting time.

And I want to buy when the stuff comes out, not waiting until 12 good cd's are out, which will take A looooooong time.

Yeah, digital distribution is the future!

But shops/labels/artists should offer the 192kb mp3 for free, or at least 128 kb, to take a listen before buying the stuff - or to be able to listen without buying at all if u have no money.

Serious music listeners and djs/djns will buy high quality for sure and it gets ripped and distributed by the groups we all know anyway.

I fully support & request this.

My cd purcahses over the last 7-8 months have dropped drastically, it's not worth spending $15 for 2-3 good tracks (there are very few recent cd's on which i like 5 or more tracks).

I recently conducted an informal survey of the digital download shops to determine just how many releases make it to their pages:
http://www.ektoplazm.com/articles/digital-download-survey-1/

Only 15% of CD releases from July 2008 were available for legal purchase at any single digital download shop. It doesn't take much imagination to figure out where listeners would go to get the other 85%.

We certainly welcome more labels at Cytopia.org

Label information: http://www.cytopia.org/cytopiaforum/viewtopic.php?t=141

CD's are lovely -but if you want to custom select just the tracks you want to play, and download the CD Quality WAV/ or Mp3 320 kbs right away -then http://www.Cytopia.org is the place to be.

Piracy is indeed rampant. Through the years I met several people who copy ALL the music that they got paid to DJ at parties. Besides being ethically shallow, most of them played bad sets because they simply had ALL the music, no joke, all of it and obviously never had the time to listen to each track with care, and think hey this reminds of this other track, I should play them in the same set. Instead they just download albums at a time and did not appreciate nor embody the content of the music they were playing; which makes them crap artists.

Cytopia.org offers DJ's a good place to listen to new releases and buy the tracks they want to play, while knowing more than half of what they pay goes to the labels and artists.

Anyway, enough propaganda for today.

take care,
Sander
