A message from Heavy Rotation
We know that the Avalon is not the most trance friendly venue. This being the case Heavy Rotation has recently backed away from being an active promoter at the Avalon with their Saturday night trance events. However when they requested help in promoting this event it was done purely out of the respect for two of the oldest and best trance groups and the wish for them have a good party.
Since this event is on a Friday (not a Saturday) we will not have to deal with the crazy after hour crowd who show up every Saturday. Fridays at the Avalon have no built in crowd, which means only those who like X-Dream and Koxbox will be there. This, we hope, will translate into a much better vibe. We hope you give it a second chance J

What do you mean by not "trance friendly"???? I found this place very friendly. Just over crowded, this indeed ruins a lot. I will not say more because I'm affraid this will start again bad things... |

Why have such an awesome line up at a club where no one gives a crap who is on stage? Avalon is a joke. Glad I will be flying to Florida that night! Have fun with your drunk sorority girls, frat boys and wanna be actress strippers. |

I do it too, but for some reason it results in fights and deletes. Never mind. But I still don't understand what you have against Avalon. I mean are you an anti-sex Republican or something? Do you have a problem with people that just want to have fun without necessarily knowing who is considered to be the best tribal house mixer or what is the difference between hardcore and happy hardcore??? Really, I must finally understand the grudge of this forum to the rest of humanity. For the peace in the forum I promise not to reply to your explanations unless you tell me to. |

I don't like Avalon because the majority of the people who go there do not care who is performing. It is a meat market. My wife hates the place cuz all these wannabe Hollywood jerk offs bother her all night. I don't like the place because of the fake ass wanna be actress stripper waitresses jumping up on stage slutting around thinking they're Paris Hilton. It's just a lame crowd for a psy trance party. Psy trance is an intelligent music. I have never been to a great psy trance party where people are going with the intent of hooking up. Not that it doesn't happen, but I don't believe that is the intention of going. I don't know anybody who really likes psy trance music who goes to parties to hook up. All the peeps I hang with that are into psy trance go for 3 reasons; the music, the artists & the friendly people.
Not the alcohol, the sluts and the no shirt sweaty jerk offs.

If they are not selling alcohol at their minimum basis they will shut it down like they did with astrix*, does anybody remember that?? why did they do that for? at 1:45am i never heard what happend in reallity but what we thought it was ALCOLHOL though,no one was drinking, is like who doesn't get it the promoter or the water? we were drinking water- thats all it takes... now it is not on a thursday night so with some luck it will be a little better....

Wooden Elephant I agree with most of your assessments..
I haven't gone to even one Avalon event for the same reasons you detailed above but like Rich said .. out of respect for two of the oldest/best trance acts and in the interest of supporting them and showing them a good time I will be at the Avalon.
Everytime XDream has come to LA they have had such great attitudes and have been such stand up guys and I want them to feel the love they've shown us so many times before...
Maybe XDream will freak these lame asses out and they will go into meltdown in some corner like I've seen happen before at an XDream party...

my favorite avalon experience was when we were lined up for two hours to see... i can't even remember who it was... and the bouncers started auctioning tickets for $50 and up. it was disgusting. then the ambulance showed up.
i wish heavy rotation lots of luck with all their endeavors, but I just can't dig the venue. i will however offer up my place as after-party locale since i live close to the avalon and they will probably throw everyone out at 2 am sharp  |
