Here it comes :
Bassdrum:
EQ: Cut below 80Hz to remove rumble
Boost between 80 -125 Hz for bass
Boost between 3 - 5kHz to get the slap
PROCESSING: Compression 4:1/6:1 slow attack medium release.
Reverb: it's almost always better without this .
Snaredrum:
EQ: Boost above 2kHz for that crisp edge
Cut at 1kHz to get rid of the sharp peak
Boost at 125Hz for a full snare sound
Cut at 80Hz to remove rumble
PROCESSING: Compression 4:1 slow attack med release.
Reverb: Tight room reverb (0.1-0.2ms)
Hi-Hatz:
EQ: Boost above 5kHz for sharp sparkle
Cut at 1kHz to remove jangling
PROCESSING: Compression use high ratio for high energy feel
Reverb: Looser than Bass n Snare allow the hats and especially the Rides to ring a little
BASS:
Compressed, EQ'd with a full bottom end and some mids (really depends on the track and bass style)
EZ ,
Peace.

Yea but is it real time analysis?
I need something that takes the output of Cubase channels and analyzes it in real time.
I presume that Wavelab analyzes the final wave file...

"FreakwencyAnalizer"
I was looking for (and i still looking for)
http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php?topic=3358&forum=2&9
And as u can see i didn't found it yet .
I like it hardware , and i'll keep searching .
For now i use my ears to analize frequencies .
btw , those analizers usable mostly before u start
working with yo ears , so maybe i don't really need
one of those ?
and another btw , Waves pluginz bundle have a nice
kind of analizer "Paz Frequency" and it's realtime
u can try it out .

Hey , I've got another one here ,
to keep diz post on da' top of da' window
How to make 1bar kick pattern sound interesting ?
Your kick's velocity is 0 to 127 .
The kick go "1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4" like in most of
"psytrance" tunes .
So try something like: "125,115,127,117" with
velocity , this can add some "groovy feel"
to ya track .
Try some other variations too ,
this is just one example.

DANGEROUS BassDrum !
"Turn down yo master volume before u doin' this !"
"analogue mixer trick" for a killer kickdrum ,
because in digital environment it's almost
impossible to get this sound without destroying
it by digital distortion .
Send your kick channel to AUX and route it to
any spare channel on yo mixer , use EQ to get
the sound u like , and start "riding-up" the fader
until u get those high-resonanced peaks around
yo kick (u can control those peaks with the EQ).
This is a good way to blow the fuck out all yo
speakers/monitors ,
so be carefull with master volume !
EZ ,
Peace . |

OK, well, first of all, there's a huge difference in bassdrums depending on the style you want to make your music. In minimal tracks the bassdrum has to be first of all accurate, only then powerful. In full-on you need a very aggressive sound and very few need the precision of that XV Killist for example has in his kicks (the Twisted Records crew use kicks that are both very accurate and with a lot of pressence, but some people don't like the sound).
In short, you should think about what frequencies you want on the kick and when - and the best way to control that is using a multiband compressor to tweak the bassdrum to the exact sound you want. As for the velocity changing on the bassdrum - it makes mastering harder, but can be more rewarding at times (Planet BEN do this very well), because you want the rhythm of the track to be as flowing as possible.
Hope I was of some help.
